When will we know about comp picks?

Its usually about a month before the draft. This year we will probably get something like a #5 for Cole Beasley and nothing else. We lost Swaim and Damien Wilson but offset that by signing Cobb and Covington.

There is also a rule (or there was) that you don't get any picks if you sign more players than you lose, but I think that will depend on the cutoff amounts to see if losing guys like Rod Smith and Afred Morris count.

I think the safe projection is getting a #5 back, which will be around the spot of the #6 we gave up for Robert Quinn. So we will have 7 picks like normal.

I think once Iloka was released, that may have given us that 5th round pick for Beasley. However they only give out 32 comp picks. So it also depends where that contract is within those top 32 FA deals. If Beasley's is #33, we will not get a pick.

I had a list of FA's signed and lost last season, and need to look for it. But I think we still signed more than we lost or was even after Iloka was released.
Or maybe it was we needed to release Covington to get that pick. It will be close, but I hope you are right and we get that 5th round back. Sound right anyway.

It's usually the last week in Feb. I doubt the Cowboys will get any this year. They lost a couple of players but also signed a couple so it will wash out.
