When will we know something about these Cowboys?

I admit that I was pretty disgusted by these armchair losers who flooded this forum with their meaningless opinions about the Cowboys after one game. One game? Why can't these losers get a life?!

But whatever, I get it. Every fan forms an opinion at some point. For example, I would be really impressed if the Cowboys were to beat the Saints and the Ravens. But even then, I kind of want to wait and see until after the Niners game. By then, we should have a good sample size to begin making a judgment.

What say you, boy?

I don't think I have ever felt comfortable in the past fifteen years, just when I feel they have a game in the bag it's a no-show.

Same with the tough games, we generally lose those as well though not always. But those that we do win do not seem to give the team/players any more confidence that beating up on a bad team.

Weird

The NFL is a week to week league. Its possible that the saints come out and curb stomp the boys. its doubtful but possible. I think the cowboys need to come out inspired every week and that will tell me somehing regardless of the end result.

I think the defense is going to be better. I am however concerned about the run game. I also dont think we will know what the makeup of this team will be till midseason or later. regardless of their record

If you like the team and you like teh day to day of "my team beat your team ha ha ha" this team is great, during the regular season it can get its wins against bad teams. Those fans love it.

If you think on success, remember the old days, have standards, this franchise let taht go because Jerry is about Jerry. This is the only franchise to fire not 1, not 2 but 3 Super Winning Coaches as if to say you re successful, get out of here. And as you can read from this board, a lot of fans are ok with that. The game to game and winning against bad teams works for them. If you have standards and like to see a competing team, this team wont do it for you.

For me, its about success in the playoffs. We need to go deep to prove this team is taking it serious. The regular season tells you nothing about the playoffs, those are two different games.

If this game was in New Orleans, I would say we'll learn a little this week.

But I agree with those saying we won't really know the upside until the playoffs.
The downside is a different matter, of course.

We had the same start last year with the Giant blow out..........everything was Guns n Roses........and then past mid season we get kicked in mouth by other playoff teams which carried over to the playoffs.

So midseason or a little after will be a good gague of where the Cowboys are at, but winning more then one game in the playoffs is the ultimate goal in my eyes, anything less is same old same old.

HOW we show up for this game will tell you a lot.
In fact, i believe how we show up for this game will tell you if MM makes mid season.
I don't really think one loss will determine MM's employment status. 5 ro 6 losses in a row might but 1. Don't think so.

After the following encounters

Baltimore Ravens - I think we'll win
Detroit Lions - Can't call it
San Francisco 49ers - Well........

If we can go 2-1 in any combination you like I'd be happy

1-2 ugh

0-3 Dak hate and Jerry failed again tsunami thread warning.

We should have a good idea of how good this team is at the bye. At Pittsburgh won't be easy either. The one thing that concerns me is how we show up against the Ravens and 49ers. Last year those games against the Bills and 49ers told me this wasn't a team that was in contention for a championship. Week 3 is kind of early, but you have to at least show up. Appear to belong on the same field.

With each game, we'll know a little bit more, but the true test starts come December and if the players play with the same intensity. Then if/when they make the playoffs, how they play there.
