A particular player acquired to upgrade a specific position should be an observation consideration also. The front office can sign pretty much anyone they want (emphasis on the 'they want') but will that player improve the offense or defense? Plus, does the new coaching staff have the ability to draw out that particular player's full potential all season long?
I totally agree with you,if Dallas would sign a couple of solid free agents before the draft ,they will be able to really improve this football team by drafting best player available each round of the draft.
The Vikings over the years have been similar to the Cowboys. They can have some good regular seasons but you never really take them seriously because they have proven to be frauds. Especially at QB for years with Kirk Cousins, hence the Dak comparisons, and this year with Darnold. They also tend to ne soft especially away from their dome.
Lets see what happens in early free agency that is the key to the playoffs next season .I believe we are serious about building a playoff caliber football team , will the right players be chosen at DT OL WR RB CB LB ,before the draft .Dallas must improve in free agency ,then the draft will unfold correctly with the best player chosen each round .That is what I want to see happen .LETS GO COWBOYS.

I wonder if Dallas gets the Brazil game 1st week vs. Chargers? The league doesn’t typically put intra-divisions games on the international schedule. Jax and Miami already host 2025 int’l games, the Giants played one last season. That leaves Tennessee and Dallas as most likely candidates.
So, we are supposed to prejudge when will judge, and then after the fact look back and judge again on whether our first judgement was right?
NFL likes to be able to bank on Cowboys TV ratings, so will most likely match them up with a patsy sure-win. Could very well be the Titans or the usual Giants fodder. A Cowboys win to start the season and get the fanbase pumped is good for Mr. Goodell and Jethro.
If we hit on a true franchise QB, he MAY be able to overcome Jerry’s world. That’s why I push this agenda so hard. We have never known because Aikman was many years ago. Otherwise, like you said, it’s hopeless.

Most teams have Free Agency then the Draft.
The Cowboys would be the same kind of fodder the Giants and Titans are going to be. They may well be traveling to São Paulo for a first week Friday game. An estimated 36 million NFL fans in Brazil. Last year it was two playoff teams from the previous season. No reason to believe they won’t want to provide that market a game they’ll be excited about.
Last year my youngest daughter wanted to go to TC because of the DCC Netflix show, so we went on Hero's Day so it was free for us. There, I observed that the team was dog shhhhh and I wasn't wrong.
