Reading these brings back good memories from when my boys were young.
I have been a fan since the late 60's, and so both of my boys were raised on the Cowboys.
They are 32 yrs old (posts on this message board) and 26, and are both huge Cowboy fans. As is my wife of 35 yrs.
My oldest had a year or two that he liked Elway in the late 80's, (I could hardly blame him during those lean years
).. but the success of the 90's locked both of them in as life-long Cowboy fans.
Just an example as to how prevelant the NFL was in our household while they were growing up, .. when my oldest was 9 and my youngest was 3, you could ask the 3 yr old any NFL team, and he could tell you the mascot. We hadn't taught him the mascots or anything, he had just picked them up from hearing my 9 yr old, my wife and me talk about it all the time I guess.
It was a little embarassing, he probably didn't know his numbers or the alphabet, but he knew the NFL mascots. :laugh2:
Anyway, good luck to all of you with young ones, .. teach'em to be Cowboy fans !!
