Where are the turnovers for our defense?

And what in blazes was Ware doing in the game with 11:30 left in the 4th quarter? I know Spencer is out, but for the love of God put in some practice squad fodder at that point.

To be fair, Patrick Watkins has had two picks negated by penalties and Pac has dropped a sure pick 6, so we've been close.

The coaches are evaluating players, not game planning opponents and really trying to shut them down. I think a lot of the soft zone coverage is to allow our defenders to practice live tackling.

Perhaps they should practice live stripping of the ball, live pass rush, and live catching in the defensive backfield. Or maybe they are just saving those skills for the regular season.

Nonesense. we saw the same 10 yards off the reciever crap last year. other teams are not game planning either. no more excuses.

I'm thinking that getting sacks in preseason isn't exactly easy. Last night was the first night that they were somewhat aggressive and they really didn't get all that complex. They blitzed a little, but they weren't running crazy stunts or switching up the coverage like they do in the regular season. And even with that, they got to Schaub a lot last night, but he is good at avoiding the sack (only 22 sacks allowed last season by Houston) and was throwing up a lot of passes that were meant to be incomplate and avoid the sack. I'd like to check out to see if tthere's a correlation between preseason turnovers forced and regular season turnovers forced, but that would take some time.

And what in blazes was Ware doing in the game with 11:30 left in the 4th quarter? I know Spencer is out, but for the love of God put in some practice squad fodder at that point.

Spencer is hurt and I think Wade probably wanted at least 1 win to a degree, just to give the team some confidence. Plus, Ware is going to have to play a full game soon, so get him into some shape for the regular season. I'm not a big fan of it, but I can see why it happened with the Spencer injury.

Reeves played 10 yards off the WR and Henry has pretty always played off the receiver his entire career. Newman OTOH would play tight or off. Wade likes to play Cover 4, but I do believe he want to play some man-to-man and I think once he feels comfortable in Pacman, we'll see a lot of man-to-man with Newman and Pac. You HAVE to be able to play zone coverage as a team in the NFL. You just cannot play man-to-man all of the time and be successful.
