Where are the two blockbuster trades? George Pickens trade rumors heating up

Pickens was WR1 in Pittsburgh. Smith is not. If Smith was WR1 instead of AJ Brown's WR2, it's a much different argument.

Now Pickens is WR2 to a better WR1 and a better QB1. We're gonna see what I'm talking about real soon.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one bro.
I mean to me they are both the same caliber of player. Pickens is a great talent. It’s just the other stuff to fear.

Different players. Smith is a route technician and much more consistent/ dependable. Pickens is a Go route specialist one of best deep threats in the league but inconsistent. Smith has the edge so far in there careers. Better stats in a smaller role, also was better in college.

Ehhh we can’t complain about them only building for the draft then get upset when we trade for a good player who’s not 35. It does go against the whole culture change unless they want us to believe the culture has already changed…..
I don’t mind a trade, but they aren’t going to be able to extend this guy or are they built to win next year.

This is a final piece type of move.

Let’s say best case hits with this guy and he is a huge part of the offense….what do you then do to replace him?

Pickens was a knuckle head in College ,he was a knuckle head in Pittsburgh,it says a lot that a team which puts up with a lot of malcontents cant wait to get rid of him even though the need receivers badly.
So was Dez. As long as he wants to win, you can put up with his antics. My understanding is that his teammates really like him

Jerry can trade for all the receivers he wants but until they figure out that stopping the run is a priority they won’t be winning a thing.

Just another move to make the Prescott deal not look so bad.
What else can they do to fix the run? They’ve changed schemes, they’ve changed DCs, they’ve spent all off season and draft fixing the interior and linebackers. I want a better interior myself but not sure realistically what you can do.

I can't disagree with this. But to also be fair, Hurts is better than the version of Russell Wilson Pickens had to play with. Now he's upgraded to Dak and playing off of CeeDee.

This will be a fun debate for years to come. :D

Do the one thing they haven’t done at DT….spend the money for a proven one. They did it with their own guy who we already know isn’t enough to win with.

There’s absolutely no way they can retain Pickens and aren’t ready to win this coming year.

This deal makes sense in a certain scenario but of course, per usual, they miscalculate where they are at.

There are a lot of fans talking about Pickens like they cruelly know something about his “bad” character, yet I have not seen one thing mentioned that he did that is a bad character. Dez was and is a little weird, but he did not have a bad character. Irvin had actual character issues off the field, but he was a leader in the locker room and on the field. Lamb held out last year, but no one thinks of him as a character guy.

Pickens wants the ball. He wants to win. He has not had a decent QB in Pittsburg, yet he makes plays. I don’t know him either, but I’d say he’s more of a DIVA WR than he is a character problem. Charles Haley did not have a character issue as a football player.

I think the team has made it pretty clear what they mean by high character guys. They want guys who love football, guys who want to be the best, who want to work. They want guys who are winners. I don’t think they would trade for Pickens if he was known to be lazy, more interested in Rap than football, or poison in the locker room.

Let’s give the guy a chance and not crap on everything just because we expect everything the Cowboys do to be stupid. Mingo, Pickens, and Lamb push some of our JAGS further from the field. That’s a good thing. I think Pickens and Mingo will also improve our run game with their blocking in the secondary. I’m excited to see Pickens and Lamb on the field together.

Everything I have heard is that he is immature, well liked among his teammates and not breaking any laws off the field. Dez was immature as well and had his moments on the field/sidelines. If he is passionate about winning, they can channel that, but if he is all about himself, he will be playing for someone else the following season and get a comp pick

I’m for the trade but he for sure has a bad history of taking plays off and being an idiot. They nicknamed him NFL Youngboy lol. Hes a knucklehead. But he’s a dog…when he wants to be.
