Where are the two blockbuster trades? George Pickens trade rumors heating up

I don’t mind a trade, but they aren’t going to be able to extend this guy or are they built to win next year.

This is a final piece type of move.

Let’s say best case hits with this guy and he is a huge part of the offense….what do you then do to replace him?

Why can’t they extend him?

If he plays well and is a fit, it’s not like the cap can’t be worked to make it happen.

Exactly. You don’t turn down improving your team in favor of another position. Hopefully another 1t is available somewhere.

Clearly they want to fix their offense to help their defense. No doubt the run defense remains a problem but if teams have to play catch up, they won’t be running the football

Do the one thing they haven’t done at DT….spend the money for a proven one. They did it with their own guy who we already know isn’t enough to win with.

There’s absolutely no way they can retain Pickens and aren’t ready to win this coming year.

This deal makes sense in a certain scenario but of course, per usual, they miscalculate where they are at.

Who did you want them to sign? I wanted Milton Williams but the salary was nuts

I don’t think we know what Pickens salary is with his history. I don’t think it’s gonna be nearly as much most should get with his talent.

Everything I have heard is that he is immature, well liked among his teammates and not breaking any laws off the field. Dez was immature as well and had his moments on the field/sidelines. If he is passionate about winning, they can channel that, but if he is all about himself, he will be playing for someone else the following season and get a comp pick

I listen to a lot of podcasts when we play teams….and last year I got an earful from the Pit guys about how immature and how much of a knucklehead he is. He apparently would take plays off if he doesn’t he the football…..but different organization different team. New start.

Pickens was WR1 in Pittsburgh. Smith is not. If Smith was WR1 instead of AJ Brown's WR2, it's a much different argument.

Now Pickens is WR2 to a better WR1 and a better QB1. We're gonna see what I'm talking about real soon.

We heard that same concern with T-Mac who was a top 10 pick. He is a type you have to manage and keep him happy. Remember Dez would be screaming and yelling if he didn’t get the football, TO as well, but they were both great receivers
