Where are you comfortable taking a running back?

This team has major needs all over the defense and at qb/wr which are going to require good draft picks to fill, but it'd also be nice to have an elite runner behind this o-line to establish the team's identity. IMO the talent pool for need positions is too great at 4 and 34 to take an rb. Neglecting to draft an RB again after last year I don't really like. There's a lot of talent between rounds 2-4 this year. I think either 4th rounder is ideal, but using our 3rd rounder would be ok if the right person fell that far.

Personally, I think we need to take a risk on a huge sleeper like Keith Marshall, who the entire world seems to be interested in now, so maybe not really a sleeper anymore. Use the compensatory 4th rounder on a runner who was good in college and has elite measurables, but is pretty much the biggest injury red flag out there as all of his injuries went to his right leg. Our depth with the Morris signing gives us the freedom to go for this risk and spend higher draft picks elsewhere. That way, we got 2 massive boom or bust injury risks in DMac and Marshall and can fall back to the Morris/Dunbar combo which should still be decent enough to win games. Risk/Reward is potentially one of if not the best RBs in the draft while still spending the 1st 4 rounds on other positions.

If they don't have the injury risk on their board, then find an rb that is graded much higher than the pick in the 3rd or 4th.

I'm comfortable taking one at any point throughout the draft if we feel it is the right player. The team is very picky in regards to a running back so if they feel Henry is their guy in the second, I wouldn't care.

I would be comfortable in 4th round this year. Whomever we take is going to be a complimentary piece, with the two RBs we have plus Dunbar. (McFadden and Morris)
Someone along the lines of a Kenyon Drake would be perfect.
Next year is another bumper crop of RB's.

Not at 4.

I'd go RB in the 2nd or 3rd with the pick we get if we traded down from 4.

10 or so for Elliot, if we can trade back; otherwise, not until the 3rd round.

If he's BPA I'd take Henry at 34. Otherwise I'd wait til 3rd or 4th.

If he is BPA then it doesn't matter where. No RB will be BPA at 4. But better think special teams with any RB you draft. A 4th RB isn't much help if he's not active and he won't be if he can't contribute on st's

Drafting someone with special teams in mind is a huge mistake to me. Get someone you believe has the potential to be our starting RB down the road. Throw Morris on STs if you have to, Dunbar is on there already.

I don't think RB is a big need and next years draft has a lot of good options but if the right guy is there in the 4th (Perkins) and he is BPA I would take him. I also might take a flier on one in the 6th. Maybe the highly recruited guy with blazing speed that was injured most of college from Georgia.

I think there is value at the position in every round, so I would be comfortable at any time.

If Dallas to that trade back with the Rams that was discussed on another thread, I'd definitely take Elliot if he fell that far. I don't think he'll go higher than 8th and think there's a real chance he goes in the teens somewhere.

Anytime much later in the draft for others works for me too.
