We all know why the biggest buzz going into the "tournament" is the Cowboy late season "slide". It's all you hear.
Well..................
The Colts are 2-3 going into the playoffs. One game better than Dallas.
KC is 2-3 going into the playoffs. One game better than Dallas.
Everyone's darling, the Saints have lost 2 or their last 3.
The defending NFC champs Seattle is 1-3 heading in, JUST LIKE DALLAS!
The Giants? We all know about the Giants. 2-6,
So, in the NFC alone, four of the six teams are heading into the playoffs with less than stellar late seasons. The Eagles, until they prove otherwise, are still cursed and a fluke IMO. The Bears? Who knows. I'm going with the conventional wisdom that the QB is a time-bomb and that that team can lay a serious egg on any given Sunday.
I know, I know. We'd all rather going into the thing hot and with momentum. But 16 games are 16 games and the last I checked, WHEN you get the necessary amount of wins to make the playoffs is not a pre-qualifier.
The only reason it's "all Dallas" all the time is because of the predictable media and talking head-ESPN, same old boring bias.
We beat Seattle (and we should), and that may be all it takes to set sail again. Things could turn in one playoff game. Seattle never scared me. Going into this season, before the TO and Vanderjerk signings even, my confidence was up because we took the wood to last years NFC Championship game teams. We lost on a fluke Bledsoe INT and a last second FG to Seattle, and we've beat Carolina two years running. Dallas matches up well with the Seahawks and their secondary is in shambles.
Just trying to think positive........................
