Where do we stand with the Salary Cap?

Well Schultz cap hit has been on the books since they tendered him a week+ ago.
Kearse tbd on first year cap hit

Where I stand with the salary cap is I hate it! I wish it was like it used to be where we didn’t have to deal with it.

Stephen is tossing his cookies over all the money leaving like a drunk college kid on 6th St.
Dropped his wallet on the way home hammered and forgot he has a credit card for an Uber in his front pocket.

More like the Uber guy is pulling up to see him tossing his cookies on the street.

Not that I've done that...

We had to get rid of important players and thin out our backups.

After that we are good regarding our cap.

But we have an elite QB who is able to elevate an below average roster to an championship level.

So no worries.

JJ has a plan!
Is that sarcasm??

Looks like about 16 assuming Kearse is split evenly
If my math is right
Kearse obviously doesn’t have to be split evenly
But one thing is we really don’t have to have but enough to pay rookies since we will get cap space after June for needs during the season

Well Collins was released as a June 1 cut, so his 10 million in savings doesn't go on the books until June 1st. So unless you included him in that calculation (which we do not have yet), his money will be used for rookies (but it will not take all 10 million).

That $10 million comes from Collins in June. Simple. They should count for about 7

Yep
So we have ballpark 16 we could spend now according to OTC
Schultz is included at 26 and Kearse is gonna be in the ballpark of 10 depending on the structure
So we can still do some things if they want
The question is, will they
They have to sign a few more guys just to fill the roster but curious if we still might go for a legit player

I believe they will still want to bring back Urban or Watson as DTs who play the run well.
That could happen before the draft or afterwards.

I hope they bring back Carlos Watkins.....he played well and played it up and down the line.

Watkins did well but the Cowboys have 4 DT's they invested draft picks on in Gallimore, Odighizuwa, Bohanna, and Hill. I think they are going to go with that group. Watkins probably wouldn't have played so much last year if Gallimore didn't hurt his elbow in the preseason.
