Where do we take our first "I didn't see that coming" pick? Prior examples of that might be Dez, Shaun Lee, Bruce Carter, and DeMarco Murray. They didn't seem to be a huge "need" at the time, but have all turned out to be very good players for us. Kinda tends to validate taking the best player available theory to at least some degree.

I'd be willing to bet we don't draft a WR at all.

If they draft a WR at all, I will go nuts...and, it seems that Dallas likes to get cutesy in the 4th round or so (ala: Matt Johnson last year, I didn't see that pick coming)

my hope is for OL/DL/S in some order, but you just never know...if no good safeties remain in the 3rd round, then the surprise pick could be there

I think in the 2nd we will take a position of need but the player that we have rated the highest will be a bit of a surprise.

probably a TE in round 2 knowing how we like them to sit on the bench behind our hof guy.

If they really like Patterson and if he tops their board, they should draft him. Get the best talent regardless of position in round 1.

But yea, it will be a surprise pick.

Oh that would be cruel to the masses.

With the 18th pick in the 2013 draft, the Dallas Cowboys select...

I doubt we have a WR as top player on our board. I don't understand why people think were going WR. Miles is staying IMO and even if he didn't I think we have some nice pieces there anyhow. If you're picking skill positions it will most definitely be RB as we have a big need there with some quality players most likely available later in the draft.

I can't recall ever hearing anyone say we were planning to go WR in the 1st round.

I see lots of mock drafts with us taking a WR not in the 1st but somewhere. Im saying I don't think we take WR at all in the draft as I like what we have at WR now and I think the Cowboys do to.

I think they draft a skill guy higher than you than you do if they draft their board.

I wouldn't be shocked to see us take a RB in the 3rd but ill bet a 20 dollar donation to CZ we don't take a WR in this draft.

When I think of I didn't see that coming I think of somebody like Matt Johnson. I'm not sure I have a good guess on an unknown player like that.

Matt Johnson was a "cute" pick? Obviously he was high on their board and filled a position of need.
