Lorenzo O'Neal was just cut by the Raiders. When you don't make it to the first cuts of a Raiders camp, it's a sign that it's time to hang it up. Was this his 8th or 9th team? I really don't know of a player so idolized by fans and the media who has pretty much been nothing more than a journeyman for most of his career. Not saying he wasn't a good one trick pony, it just seems as though it's hard to for GMs keep a roster open for a player who really brings no other skill to the table than human battering ram. If you're going to be a one dimensional fullback in today's NFL, you better be one heck of a special teams contributor.

As to what happened to FBs ... I'll echo the sentiment that the spread offense happened to it. It's pretty hard for teams to find FBs when almost all high schools and most colleges don't even have one on the roster.
