Wasn't able to watch the game today, was out of town. Haven't heard much about him, who are our 4 linebackers? Ware, Fujita, Nguyen, and Shanle? Where has he been?

With Singleton gone and the be week upon, it should be the time to work him into the OLB rotation with Fujita and even spell Ware every now and then.

I was wondering the same thing during the game. He should be healthy by now?

ALmost all of our draft picks are starting or contributing except Burnett (and Henson if you count that)

yep im getting disappointed. hopefully now that old man als out of the way we get to see what burnett can do. the only play ive seen from him is on my madden game. I would really like to see this guy start making an impact next week, because hes extremely talented. We could really use him for the end of the year/playoffs if he starts to come around.

with the emergence of james, i dont know that burnett will even start at all this year. Fujita is playing the olb spot, james has the ilb spot next to dat. and when dat goes out shanle plays, so ya nice to have depth for once, but i would really like to see burnett get more playing time. does anyone think we may not resign fujita and just let burnett and james start? may happen although iwould like to resign fajita anyways because hes been pretty solid and hes big.

You’re not kidding. When looking at the young talent on this defense and seeing how they are playing today I can't help but to get excited about the prospect of his unit for years to come.

Are Fujita and Shanle good enough to keep our 2nd round pick (many slated a first rounder I think) out of the game?

Different position, at least in Shanle's case. Shanle backs up Dat. Fujita is a SOLID vet who has led the Chiefs in tackles the last few years, he'll backup Fujita and I'm perfectly fine with that.

I don't know where he's going to fit in, but I noticed yesterday on a kick coverage play that Burnett looks really BIG out there. He was standing next to Fowler, I think it was, and he looked at least as big or bigger IMO, and Fowler is 245-250. Did anyone else notice that?

BP hates to move players around -- but Burnett is going back behind Fujita -- Fujita is going to continue to play a little on Ware's side to spell him. Burnett played in that spot all preseason -- the last minute move, surgery, and playing behind a DROY candidate has kept him off the field.

In the off-season, I expect Burnett to move inside -- there is a bit of a logjam there with James and Shanle playing so well (which really is about Fergi and Glover playing lights out lately).

i think burnett will move inside along with James, with shanle getting playing time more in passing situations. James has really solidified himself as a starter on this team imo so far. With dat and the rest of the guys gonna be hard for him to get time though.

Great to have depth at LB.

Will be interesting to see what Parcells does to starting lineup.
My money is he'll start Fujita and sign a developmental type LB - for the future.

developmental type LB? we already have Burnett and Shanle developing. Fujita will be resigned imo, how can we not, we'd be crazy to let him go. I think our LB situations are finally taken care of with James and Shanle and Burnett in the wings.
I would feel just fine not drafting an LB at all this year because quite frankly I dont think he'd ever get a chance to play with so many guys ahead of him. Now all we need is an offensive overhaul in hte draft next year to give us this kind of depth on offense.

Shanle was a developmental player we signed late in 2002.

A guy that can play ST for now and learn the ropes. Also bigger, faster guys that fit the 3-4. We don't need to sign a guy to play now. With Dat and Burnett - we have backups that can step in and start if need be.

If we were to sign an lb imo it would have to be a jeremiah trotter like guy. someone really big specializing in run stopping. shanle dat ware james seem to be good in coverage and quick enough. I am very happy with our linebacking corps, i dont see many improvements to be made.
