I find it hard to believe that we can't create mismatches with him. It looks like most teams are playing the middle and stacking the box against us. Is he athletic enough for a back shoulder pass? Is it a coaching thing, Escobar thing or Weeden thing?

If a player is rated a 2nd round pick...and most teams have him on their boards in the 2nd round......well then if we cannot even figure out how to get him ONE.....ONE....catch in 3 games....that is on this coaching staff/scheme. He's a catch radius type of receiver. He doesn't get separation, so he has to rely on running his routes in sync with other receivers to force the safeties hand and then take advantage on mismatches. Without any deep threats, he's basically useless.

Then SCHEME him open.....teams across the league are doing it week in and week out. I hope Jerry is paying attention. Garrett is basically letting Jerry know that without all pro talent....I cannot even get a first down. But Jerry would have to know what he is looking at to get the message. And I agree with you...on his own...he struggles to get open.....but if he can catch....you need to get him open. Pick plays....whatever....they can't call a penalty on every play!

When Weeden does not have the ability to throw a back shoulder throw then Escobar is useless.

He has horrible body control and he lumbers around like a klutz. Kind of a bad combination for someone who is supposed to be a "mismatch".

i think it's also his length of strength. so he can't get open like witten or gronk and make space. and as stated above weeden's lack of ability

Weeden can't get it to anyone who is open or covered.

He could be as strong as an ox, but if he cannot control his body, it really does not matter. His lack of coordination is really very evident if you just look at him.

He is not a "big WR". He is not a "fast TE". I really do not know what he is.

when an entire team is MIA and no one is showing up to play and we manage (2) FGs the entire afternoon, it always makes perfect sense to find ONE SINGLE PLAYER and put it all on them.

If I recall correctly, Jerry was very dubious about this pick...not necessarily the player but drafting yet another TE that wouldn't be used. He was told that they would actually use him. If my memory is correct, can't blame Jerry for that one. But Escobar *seems* to lack any explosion and strength to his game also - which were his knocks coming out of college.

It just seems if he can't get involved now, he's never going to get really involved. Shame considering the handful of players taken after him we could really use right now.

Dallas needs to focus on the next section of the season. Get Cassel ready and the defense ready to destroy the Giants. I f they can find a way to use Escobar then they need to do that over the next 2 weeks.
