what websites do you guys use for prospects and waht rounds they are projected to make your mock drafts?

I used to have alist of the good ones, which are rare, I think I only found like 3 or 4 good ones, the rest of the 75 so I looked up sucked, so I'm curious which ones you guys use or think are good ones.

I weeded out a lot of bad ones the past few years, the way I'd to that was pretty simple, some sites had McFadden ranked like 45th overall, wihch tells me theye clueless and cna't be trusted, etc., not all were that easy to weed out, but a lot were actually pretty bad and had noticeable faults, so much so that I would never use them.

I go to NFLDraftCountdown.com, find a player, who fits a position of need IMO, then go to cfbstats.com, and look how they're doing this year

there are players that draft sites don't list, so while I'm at cfbstats.com, I browse around and usually find some good players

How did any of you guys come up with a mock, meaning which site gave you the rankings on who was projected to go in what rounds?

There are two sites I go to for draft databases....yes one of them belongs to the enemy, but they have a ton of mocks to look at.

http://waltersfootball.com

http://hailredskins.com

Now, in my yahoo search engine, I type something from the list below, and then search as many of the results as possible till I find what I am looking for.

1. 2009 NFL Draft Sleepers
2. 2009 NFL Draft Small School
3. 2009 NFL Draft Small School Prospects
4. position + player name + school
5. 2009 NFL Draft + position

some individual sites
http://waltersfootball.com

http://draftcountdown.com

http://fantasyfootballtoolbox.com

http://cdsdraft.com

http://nfldraftdog.com

Recently I have found some nice sites for stats

http://cfbstats.com

Hopefully these will help you out......

I use walter, I mentioned them as one of my top 3 sites, very good site for the draft, I'll check out the skins draft.

2 of my 3 sites that I have found to be good in my massive search for good draft sites.

I have this rated down on my sheet as to never go to for draft insight, very bad sight IMO.

http://cdsdraft.com

I'll check these 2 out, thanks, just went on draft dog, they have Dallas selecting a Center in roudn 2, is this where you came up with the idea of drafting a center in round 2? Just curious.
Their reason behind it was that we could move Gurode back to guard, which we be a ******** move since he struggled when we moved him to guard, and once we plugged him back at Center, he made the pro-bowl, so moving him to guard is not a bright idea, the site looks really good other then they don't know team needs, but most don't anyway, and I only care about prospects and it seems good from the quick look I gave it.

Hopefully these will help you out

I'll let you know, thanks!

Just checked out cdsdraft, throw that one away, I looked at their MOCK and they had James Lauranaitus going 45th overall! LOL

Once I see something that's so far off and ridiculous, it shows me they have nO CLUE what they're doing and I can't ever trust the site with any other information after seeing something like this.

I mean, to have a top 10 prospect on almost everyon'es board going in the middle of round 2 is a complete joke, and thus I would remove this website from your favorites list and never refer to this site for any good info EVER AGAIN!

you put too much stock in mocks....i dont go to either site you are throwing away for their mocks. i go to get player analysis and stats. i could absolutely care less about their mocks.

btw, i didn't look at the mock on that site that had us picking a Center. I don't allow those mock makers to influence me at all. I go by the players Dallas currently has (how they play, injuries, retirement, FA, etc.)....I also go by the guys I focus on in the college game. One thing I do like to do, especially early on in my mocks is include several prospects from the lesser universities. I want to give everyone something to think about and discuss.

It gets boring if all you do is say take so and so from Texas, USC, Ohio St., and LSU.....give me some seasoning. Sprinkle in some players from the MAC, WAC, Con-USA, etc. and even some D-2 kids...

Point is, how can you TRUST someone's analysis if they are completely incompetant to not put Lauraniaus in their top 32 (not mock, top 32) in their top 100 when the clear consensus is usually top 10 for him, never lower then top 15 in most cases????
That tells me that the people who run the website are completely clueless and incompetant and I wouldn't believe a word they say or put any stock into any player analyses based off of that.

Well, that's what made me wonder why you'd pick Center for our top pick when we just re-signed our Pro-Bowl Center to a long term contract.

I agree, usually by the actual draft day, I have come up with every possible scenario with every possible prospect for each round, I think it's good to throw out every possibe scenario, within reason that is, I mean, I heard people last year suggesting we take a Q.B. with one of our 1st round picks last year, that's justnot realistic or even possible.

It gets boring if all you do is say take so and so from Texas, USC, Ohio St., and LSU.....give me some seasoning. Sprinkle in some players from the MAC, WAC, Con-USA, etc. and even some D-2 kids

I agree, I like to hear about some of the smaller school players, hell, Demarcus Ware was rated as a 3rd round prospect as early as 3 weks prior to the draft and then shut up the boards to be drafted earyl round 1.

Actually, CDS is a good website for finding about fringe prospects... they do in-depth interviews with players who, if they're drafted at all, won't be before the 6th or 7th rounds...

I don't know how active it is, haven't been there in a while, but they also have a message board where some of the fringe prospects agree to answer fans' questions during the year... it can be pretty interesting, too...

it hasnt been updated in several months Bear.....but I like to go there between the SB and the draft, cause that is when they give some great info.

right now, a lot of quality sites are lagging behind their updates....probably waiting until after the college regular season ends to catchup.
