Where is our pass rush?

I thought the purpose of beefing up the secondary was to allow us to blitz to pressure the QB. We rarely blitz and don't do a very good job when we do. I thought that was Rob's specialty? How come he can't dial up effective blitzes?? Seriously, the 3-4 sucks as a base defense if you don't blitz because one of your best pass rushers (OLB) has to drop back in coverage. If we are only going to rush 4 on most plays then we need to switch to the 4 - 3 so our two best rushers are going after the QB on most plays!!

yeah diff d coordinator, better talent....same result....no pressure, making average qbs look elite, no turnovers, can't cover anyone....

I feel your pain!!!!! I seriously don't get it.

I seem to remember a lot of people claiming that better CBs would add up to more sacks

I'm liking Ryan less and less each game. We need to go to the 4-3 in the off-season. Maybe the D will never look better with that weak front, IDK. Ware was nowhere to be seen today minus one play.

I don't think 4 Deion Sanders in the secondary can play well with no pressure up front over the long run.

I admit I thought it would add up to more sacks. I thought the purpose was to have them play man coverage and blitz. We rarely blitz so we rarely get pressure. I seriously thought blitzing was a Ryan strong point. He has done a piss poor job of it here.

3-4 is a waste of time if you're playing a conservative scheme, which is what Rob Ryan does. Constantly rushing 3 and when he does bring 4, it's usually Ware + 3 interior DL (yawn).

It's time to go to the 4-3 defense because there are no JJ Watt interior DLinemen in this next draft.

I tend to agree. The 3 - 4 has been a failure here because we can't seem to use it to blitz effectively. Makes zero sense to drop one of your best pass rushers back in coverage when you only rush 3 or 4.

Am I the only one that saw Flacco get hit just as he released the ball multiple times today? Please tell me that others of you saw that. And every stinking time he completed the stinking pass! But it wasn't that there was no pressure, he was just making the plays anyway.

Believe it or not.....it left with Anthony Spencer....

I agree spencer, even rushing the qb less than ware, led the team in pressures! The pressure is sitting on the sidelines right now!

I'm getting further away from the "blame the coord" view. I think they are just doing the best they can with the poor players they get.

A key play early was when flacco had people hanging on him and all around him on a 3 rd down and just flipped it out to ray rice for 43 yds.

That did happen a few times but I think those were on blitzes, not a regular pass rush. Also, he still had decent time before getting hit. If I remember correctly, Lee had two of those.

Pressures is a BS stat thought up to defend players who do not get sacks

Ryan has no support on the backend from his safeties, so he can't blitz alot....instead he has to protect them from giving up big plays.

If you want to continue to complain about not getting turnovers, look no further than our horrrrible safety play.

We better call the nfl stats office and tell them to stop counting pressures because an expert cowboys blogger found that its all BS.
