Where would the Eagles be had they gone all-in on Wentz?

I don’t think he was ever the same after his knee injury, but I am curious how much success they would have had they stuck with him..

None. He probably won’t even get a backup job next year. Chiefs started him in the 17th meaningless game and he was ineffective

And it was the concussion that changed his trajectory, 2019 playoffs

They traded him and used those picks to build a Super Bowl winner. There is an article on that trade and how Howie parlayed those picks into so many good players. It's pretty dam impressive.

They would have been sitting on the couch next to us watching the SB. Those injuries caught up with him, and his attitude was poor from what I heard.

Ideal back up quarterback. Experienced. Huge. Understands his limitations. Will not complain about playing time. Works exclusively with a team’s reserves. And will sign for the minimum. He’s a free agent, although the Chiefs likely re-sign him.

Wentz was having an MVP year in 2017 until he was injured. Having to sit and watch Foles win a SB and SB MVP had a negative affect on him. It put a lot of pressure on him and he lost his confidence and regressed.

If jerry had drafted him, he would still be here making 60 mil a year lol.

The eagles cut players and coaches that are not getting it done.

He could’ve been…but Clowney had other plans. He was really never the same after that hit.

But yeah, I will say that Howie not only knows how to cut bait at the right time, he also knows how to make another team smile…while he is secretly telling them to bend over

hell

right with cowboys

well only 4 more year of dak every one it will be fun

You see, this is the difference between the GM in Philthy and Jerry - they recognize when they have a crap QB who isn't worth keeping. Jerry, on the other hand, rewards mediocrity and makes ***** a QB the highest paid player in NFL history. This is why Dallas hasn't won a damn thing in 30 years and it isn't changing any time soon.

They went to a Super Bowl while he was there. Even though Foles finished it, Wentz started 13 of the games. I think that both of those QBs show it's more about the team built around the QB. However, his play eroded from there and I'm not sure even Roseman could have put together a strong enough team had he remained the QB.

Well, they did sign him to a massive second contract… So if they kinda did go all in… To their credit, they were able to realize they made a mistake and get out of it before they were stuck with him.
