Where's Stuart Scott?

On ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike in the Morning show, guest Stuart Scott discussed the Don Imus controversy. Hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic asked Scott whether it's fair for Imus to be in so much trouble for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" when rap lyrics frequently use such language

Scott's response was bizarre, to say the least. He said rappers who use those words "mean it in an affectionate way."

I don't know about Emmitt but Stu is being funny. Does everything he says have to make sense? A lot of it is just meant to sound funny. Do you listen to all the lyrics in rap songs too? I don't think you are being racist but I think you are trying to find something wrong with a good guy.

I don't even know the guy! Why would anyone say that? I simply said I don't understand some of what he says. Not trying to find anything wrong with him.
And no, honestly, I don't listen to all the words to the rap songs. as a matter of fact, I don't listen to rap. Does that mean I am trying to find something wrong with those who do?

You are simply wrong here. This is about what he says, nothing more. You needn't be so sensitive and reactionary for no reason.

STU SCOTT STILL OUT AFTER AN APPENDECTOMY

Plenty of the patrons of PFT Planet have been inquiring as to the whereabouts of Stu Scott, the anchor of ESPN's in-stadium Monday night coverage.

Scott is still recovering, we're told, from an emergency appendectomy that he underwent two weeks ago, while preparing to cover the Fins-Steelers game.

Sal Paolantonio has been handling the duties in Scott's absence. And, in our view, Scott might be in danger of getting Wally Pipped.

Give it a rest, James.

A lot of us don't like the guy's schtick ... his annoying, loud, goofy way of drawing attention to himself while he should be giving us scores and highlights.

There's nothing more to it than that.
