Where's The Rush?

I was just looking at individual pass rushing stats over at NFL.com, and I almost cried. It went all the way down to 3 sacks. There are 30 individuals that have that amount or more. No Dallas Cowboy was recognized. Must be an in house error on the part of NFL.com. There has to be. Because if there's not, then:

Rookie Mark Anderson, at 5.5, has at least 3 more sacks than any Cowboys player. Well, he has had one more game to get there. Good thing the Eagles have played one more game than us. How else can you explain that they have 4 players on the list, including league sack leader Trent Cole?

Things have got to change. The player we could have gotten by trading Dat Nguyen (who played one more season) to NO, Darren Howard, was a one man wrecking crew Sunday. He played all over the place, and it didn't matter. He whipped every OL he went up against. McNabb had all freaking day to throw the ball, (..and he still sucked). Just think what a little pressure might have done. If we would have gotten half the pressure on him that Philly got on Bledsoe, we would be 3-2 & be 1/2 game ahead of them.

We have a great run defense, & that is the most important thing. However, if we can't bring any pressure, once we have an opponent at 3rd & long, sooner or later it's going to bite us. We were very lucky Sunday that McNabb couldn't find his WRs on 3rd down for some reason, or the score wouldn't have been close.

OTOH, we're 11th in the league in total sacks, averaging 3 per game, with every team in front of us, except the Chargers, having played one more game than us.

Individual accomplishements are nice, but the team is getting it done more this year.

We're seventh in sacks per game and sacks per attempt. Like superpunk said, we're getting the sacks, we're just spreading them around.

One of my first mock drafts had us trading out of the 1st and picking up McNeill and Anderson in the second, and Watkins in the 3rd.

I liked Anderson, he could play OLB and he was really good at getting after the QB.

We just need to let Ware get after the QB more than staying in coverage, that's all.

You have to consider that the Eagles did get to play against Drew Bledsoe. Even the Cowboys defense could sack him. :lmao:

Actually, we would be 3-1! Although, I do agree. We rank pretty high in sacks overall, but in obvious passing downs we don't finalize. I mentioned it earlier about Canty, Fergy, Spears. They are great at stopping the run, but its asking alot of Ware/Ellis to get the sacks when our interior d-line doesn't get to the Qb consistently. We get pressure in the nickle with Ratliff and to some extent Hatcher, but I expect teams to start throwing more on 1st down if they pay attention about Spears, Fergy, and Canty. It was nice to hear BP say that he needed more out of Canty and Spears, because we need them to be than one dimentional.
