Which 1st rd prospect improves the team the most?

Parsons might turn out to be the best player in this draft. He's the complete package. I'll be shocked if he slips to us. We're talking an even faster Urlacher here.
fast is a start, but does he have good FB instincts and will he finish? I want a guy that will wrap up and tackle at that position. We have too many linebackers that dont do that...they reach. Jaylon is fast, but not much else.

I think Surtain is the guy unless Pitts, Chase or Sewell are available. I think the expectations with this pick is unrealistic. This draft has very few elite talents. I’m okay with Surtain just being a very good player. I do think Quinn’s system will play to his strengths.
The one knock I have on Surtain is he doesnt get turnovers. Not a ball hawk. That worries me at 10. We need a guy that takes the ball away as well as can cover well. Diggs showed us last part of the season he can track the ball and get int's. I think Diggs will emerge as an elite cb this year. He will bust out in a big way.

Surtain/Horn-replaces Anthony Brown as the outside starter.
Slater-replaces Connor Williams at Guard or Biaz at Center. Could replace Tyron down the line
Pitts (unlikely he will be available)-replaces Jarwin. Would be #2 or #3 passing option.
Parsons-most likely pushes Neal to the bench or SS and plays the strong-side role
Smith/Waddle-joins a crowded group, can everyone get enough targets?

Year 1 or long term?

For a team that's biggest weakness was run D and for Parsons being the best run defender in the draft I think he makes the most sense short term and long term.

Personally I would take Parsons before Surtain. And I really like Surtain. IMO he’s the best defensive player in the draft. But I think this team is pretty locked in to Surtain unless one of the elites fall.

You think Connor Williams is better then Brown?
Not only is he better..Brown routinely lines up vs the opposing teams 3rd or 4th best option..put him against other teams 1s and 2s and it's night night

Over the life of his contract, you can make an argument. If drafted by the team, don't envision a big role yr 1 with Lve/Jaylon still on the roster.

I think Brown is an average starter, just like Connor Williams.

Brown is not an average starter, Imo. Playing the slot also isn't the same as playing the outside. Brown can't play on the outside and there is no way he would be average out there.

Same, without hesitation.

I think if we draft Parsons then ideally Jaylon enjoys a little more time on the bench.

With how good Parsons is as a blitzer you can also have him pass rush a lot on 3rd down.

gutt reaction is pitts parsons and surtain.
forced to pick 1...surtain.
but there is no way the addition of any of those 3 doesnt impact this team in a good way.
too talented not to have an impact for the better.
slater would as well...but down the line.
pitts parsons surtain impact would be immediate.

Brown as your starting CB on the outside is a disaster. Which is why we are almost certain to take Surtain or Horn unless one of the elites fall..

That's why I said complete package!!!! Wasn't me that declared he was good just due to being fast!!!!

Parsons is chockfull of instincts. His rating is the same as Devin White.

Just hope that the guy at 10 is a day 1 starter and doesn't take until week 13 to make an impact

one of the keys to real success in the NFL is making a good-great position group dominant. Slater!!!

If Surtain is still seen as a top 10 pick even though he's no ball hawk, he must be outstanding in coverage.

So we'll have a CB1 that locks down the WR1 and forces the QB to throw in the direction of our ball hawk at CB2.
