Which three teams that the media has hand-picked to be very good will end up becoming disappointments?

1. Jets (The #1 defense will still be pretty good, but I don't expect much from Sanchez this year. Sophmore slump strikes again. Rex will eat some of his offseason words.)

2. Vikings (Doesn't matter whether Favre returns or not. If he does, DO NOT EXPECT another season like he had last year. If it's not Favre under center, then it will be an uphill climb.)

3. Colts (I just think Peyton will have an off year this year. Their offensive line will struggle to keep Peyton upright. Defensively will be average.)

Honorable mention: Saints (The Saints have probably celebrated their Super Bowl win more than any other team in the history of the NFL. If you listen closely, they're still celebrating while buffing their rings. Expect a hangover. Maybe not right off the bat, but the season will wear on them as the target on their backs gets bigger with each week.)

I agree with your 1 and 2. I also think the media will be wrong about the Eagles. I think they will tank and the Commanders will surprise.

The Saints are the only team in the NFL that really stayed the same while everyone else got better, including Oakland and Detroit. They will miss the playoffs. Atlanta gets the nod out of the South this season.

i don't even think the jets make the playoffs. they got incredibly lucky last year.

Yeah, but when they got in, they handled their business. You have to give them that.

But as far as actually making the playoffs was concerned, yes, they did luck out. Thanks, Indianapolis.

1 Chargers-very weak afc west helps but that's the only reason they sniff the playoffs. 1 and done if they do make it. Rivers is elite and that's why they probably do edge out broncos for the west.

2. Indianapolis- they might be the 5th best team in the afc at this point. And I mean "might"

3. Whoever wins the NFC west. Somebody had to win the division and it Should be the 49ers but it wont matter.

We've been on this list for the past 3 years.

Bill P----you are what you are until you prove othewise........and dont eat the cheese.....

Bengals. Will disappoint their fans, but not NFL drama fans.

Thats going to be a train wreck waiting to happen.

If theres no train wreck, I will be disappointed.

Its early, but my initital thoughts are:

1) New England...they didnt look like they even belonged in the postseason at the end of last year. They still dont have a running game and their WR corp is another year older. Their defense is fairly mediocre.

2) Cincinnati...just have a hard time believing they put two straight solid seasons together...not sure that the senior citizen WR's are gonna do much.

3) Baltimore...people keep picking this team for the Super Bowl, I just dont see it. They might be improved offensively (if Boldin does what he almost never does and stays healthy) but their defense looks ready to take a major step backwards to me, especially with all their injuries and age.

Say no to drugs. People have been writing off Manning for the past couple of seasons, but he continues to shut them up. Manning has only been sacked 24 times in the past two seasons, and I see no indication that his offensive line will get notably worse this year. In 2008, the Colts started the season with a 3-4 record, but they ripped off NINE straight wins to end the regular season. This was largely due to Manning, which is why he was ultimately named the league's MVP.

I expect the Colts to still be a serious contender in the league, and it will be because of Manning. Manning has been the league's MVP two years and running; he is the last person I would write off.

1. Eagles- tough schedule and new QB. No Playoffs
2. New Orleans-Best in division yes, conference no. Won't repeat. See Dallas, Giants,Minnesota, and Green Bay as better teams.
3. Patriots-Difficult schedule.Wild card probably. End of the road possibly.

  1. Giants will flop. Except for Keith Bullock, their situation has just gotten worse and worse.
  2. Saints: A lot has changed and while I don't think they are going to be terrible, they are going to have issues. Injuries and FA has created holes in their team.
  3. Jets: Many first year coaches that acquire good teams have a great first year, then fall off the following year.

Runner up, Eagles. Though I'm not sure they are going to flounder. I think there will be some adjustments at QB that will have to be made. I think Kolb will end up settling in though.
