Which athlete would make the best football player?

With his speed and quickness, Rajon Rondo could probably fit in as a Desean Jackson style WR.

Going to another era, I always thought Karl Malone at TE would have been SICK!

I used to speculate about him playing TE in the NFL as well. I think he would have done very well.

We did select Pat Riley in 1967 but he decided on the NBA instead. Not that I'm in any way disappointed being a lifelong Lakers fan. :D

Connie Hawkins was another guy I used to wonder how he would do as a WR. I met him once when he played for the Lakers, he had the biggest hands I have ever seen. A basketball looked like a softball when he held it.

Charles Barkley would have been interesting as well.

It's fun to try to debate this and come up with different athletes.

But this discussion begins and ends with LeBron James.

Short slants to Wilt the Stilt would have been difficult to defend without drawing a lot of PI's. Saw him listed at 7'1'' 305# playing stats.

How about Bruce Bowen at CB? Maybe in his younger years he could've got under the skin of some of the Drama Queen WR's.

I think Allen Iverson could have been an amazing CB with his quickness, speed and toughness.

He was much like one of the greatest CBs of all-time in that he didn't like to practice.

I have to second this one. Brock Lesner as a linebacker would be freakin' scary! I would love to see him run around back there and pummel ppl.

He tried and failed...don't feed the troll.

Everyone knows that LeBron is a Cowboys fan too, right? 2010 free agency...uncapped year...

He was a great QB back at his time in H.S. Kind of ironic because he had to pass the ball. ;)

Actually, I think he was an option guy who mostly held onto the ball. :D

He's 6'2 235lbs.
That's not a tight end, and I'm sure he has little talent at WR.
Next...
You've seen him play WR, then?

Honestly, the Great 8 could do whatever he wants to on the football field. TE, WR, SS, QB...he could play OT if you wanted him to. He is that good.

has anybody ever seen Lebron get fouled somewhat hard? he falls to the ground and lays there for 2 minutes trying to make it more dramatic. he's too soft to play pro football.

Lebron wouldn't make it in the NFL, the dude lays on the ground and cries when fouled decently hard in the NBA. Imagine Howard on jump balls in the redzone, if he can catch it would be unstoppable.
