Here's the link. http://www.nfl.com/teams/depthcharts/DAL

1. Larry Allen listed at 325, yeah right! He looks 340ish, he needs to drop 15.

2. JJones needs to stop bulking up.

3. Petitti needs to work out like a demon, and not lose or gain a pound.

4. Ware needs to bulk up to 260, unless he's going to lose agility and speed.

5. Canty + 10

6. Spears + 5

7. Ferguson + 15 (I think his weight loss made him weaker)

8. Burnett + 8

9. RW - 10 (it's time for him to slim down a bit)

All the rookies from this year need to hit the weight room and turn fat into muscle.

It might be difficult for Allen to lose much weight at this point in his career.

Totally agree about JJ. It's the main reason why I didn't want us drafting Greg Jones. There is such a thing as too much muscle, esp. for skill players.

Not sure where Ferguson needs to be as far as his weight is concerned.

Surprised you left out Al Johnson. Not saying added weight will improve his play, but it seems like a popular opinion around here that needs to add some.

Actually he does look about 325 to me. Did you see any of the pics of him from training camp? The dude was cut (by Offensive lineman standards).

2. JJones needs to stop bulking up.

Don't think his "Bulking up" had anything to do with the season he had.

3. Petitti needs to work out like a demon, and not lose or gain a pound.

Didn't know demons worked out.

4. Ware needs to bulk up to 260, unless he's going to lose agility and speed.

Ware is fine where he's at.

5. Canty + 10

Canty could probably put on 30 lbs easily w/o effecting his agility. Not that I'd want him to. 10 - 15 is fine.

6. Spears + 5

Spears doesn't need to gain any weight.

7. Ferguson + 15 (I think his weight loss made him weaker)

Ferguson doesn't need to gain any weight. At this point he would only be able to gain fat to increase his weight.

8. Burnett + 8

Agreed.

9. RW - 10 (it's time for him to slim down a bit)

Roy is fine where he was at this season.

Actually the only think I'll agree on is Roy Williams losing some weight, the guy needs to work on back peddling and simple coverage 'nough said. People need to scratch the whole "if Petiti does this..." crap, the bottom line is the guy can't move his feet worth sh** and that has nothing to do with weight, there was a reason he was drafted in the 6th round.

For such a great athlete, he certainly looks like he carries a lot of baby fat and pudge around his middle. Either he's awfully soft for a 3 year veteran of the NFL playing DB or it's the way he wears his uniform. I haven't seen him with his shirt off...most of those guys who aren't linemen are pretty ripped. Maybe he is too, but he sure doesn't look it in his jersey.

I would like to see Chris Canty in a mold of the likes of Demitrius Underwood

6-7 320

I would like to see Marcus Spears at 6-5 305

I'll like to see Julius Jones gain 20 pounds of muscle... and lose like 15 pounds of body fat...

Also I would like to see Jason Witten gain 10 pounds of body muscle.....

Kevin Burnett should gain atleast 15 pounds of body muscle and 5 pounds of body fat...

I like to see Terence Newman gain 10 pounds of body muscle and lost 5 pounds of body fat...

I like to see Keith Davis gain 10 pounds of body muscle and gain 5 pounds of body fat...

I like to see Bradie James gain 5 pounds of body muscle and lose 10 pounds of body fat...
Also
I would like to see Greg Ellis gain 10 pounds of Body muscle

1. Larry Allen listed at 325, yeah right! He looks 340ish, he needs to drop 15.

I think Allen is at the point of his career where he's not going to get any better regardless of weight he loses. Wouldn't surprise me to see him released. He really needed to get to 325 about 5 years ago, but was on the Krispy Kreme diet instead.

2. JJones needs to stop bulking up.

Perhaps. Seemed a tad slower, but in the Carolina game he seemed like his usual self. Could be injury. Needs to break more tackles with his lower body, so he may need to work on that or just his balance and staying healthy.

3. Petitti needs to work out like a demon, and not lose or gain a pound.

It's body fat he needs to work on. He needs to lower that and not lose too much weight because he wouldn't be adding the muscle. Needs to work on mobility, balance and technique badly.

4. Ware needs to bulk up to 260, unless he's going to lose agility and speed.

He listed at 255 at his pro day workout. He's probably around that right now. I don't think he'll lose speed and mobility with 10 pounds because he's pretty tall (almost 2" taller than Merriman) and has very long arms. Even still, I just watched some of the games again from this season and part of Ware's problem is that he struggled utilizing proper technique on the inside moves as his pad level was too high.

While I'd like to see him gain about 10 pounds of muscle, I think with proper technique, getting used to the NFL season and game, along with a good LOLB....Ware can be a major force without even needing to gain a pound of muscle.

5. Canty + 10

Nah, he's about 295 and has a lean look to him. 6'8" people that weigh over 305 pounds typically have a bit too much fat on them. Canty needs to work on stamina and just getting used to the game.

6. Spears + 5

He's fine as well. He's had weight problems in the past and when he got any higher than 295, his play dipped according to Nick Saban. Needs to work on technique and just getting used to the game. Came on strong later in the season.

7. Ferguson + 15 (I think his weight loss made him weaker)

He's fine. He wasn't Casey Hampton, but still a good Nose Guard. Remember, he's 31 years old and you typically want to keep the weight down once you get past 30.

8. Burnett + 8

Saw so little of him, it was hard to tell much about him. Needs to stay healthy.

I like NE's Linebackers because they are mammoth and mobile, but a 240-245 pound ILB can work very well in the 3-4.

9. RW - 10 (it's time for him to slim down a bit)

I thought his coverage was pretty good this year, but I'm a bit concerned about how long he can play effectively at the current weight.

I think Al Johnson needs to gain weight, but from the sounds of it he literally cannot do so without putting on too much fat. Terrence Copper needs to gain some muscle as he struggles getting off the line of scrimmage. Jacques Reeves could stand to put on some pounds since he's probably the tallest CB they've got and he's an inconsistent tackler.

Rich.........

I think hoping for guys who are more than about second year players to change their bodies much is wishful thinking. It really only takes a season or two of concentrated training and nutrition, especially with the equipment and coaching these guys have, to max out a person's capabilities.

That said, I think Petitti needs to lose about 15-20 lbs of fat and gain a lot of strength...

Canty is a very lean 290 or so and IMO can gain significant muscle this offseason due to his youth and the knee (and eye) injury last offseason that kept him from squatting...

Maybe Beriault can put on five or seven pounds of good weight...

And Spears can hopefully gain not a lot of muscle -- although he could gain some, I'm sure -- but improve his strength substantially.

Oh, and one more.. Wasn't there a story that the Cowboys wanted Julius to work on his lower body this offseason? I'd agree with that. IMO his legs look almost too small compared to his upper body. Lay off the curls and get your squat up, Julius. :)

There couldn't be a more true statement, he's ripped up top now he needs to get more power in the hips and legs to break simple arm tackles.

:lmao2: I was thinking something to that nature. I think he's a trainer.

I agree with the person that said Witten needs some more muscle.. He's getting manhandled nearly every snap. (but he's a heck of a receiver)

I didn't think of Beriault.. He needs to put on atleast 10 pounds of pure muscle in the next couple of years. I don't know how long it takes to add that kind of muscle, maybe the experts can help.

I think Roy needs to lose some lbs badly, at least 10 but no more than 15.

Does anybody know what his weight was this season compared to his rookie season? It just seems to me that his added weight has caused him to lose 1/4-1/2 a step.

I wouldn't mind seeing T-New add 10 to 15 more lbs. Is it just me? or don't his legs look like a couple of toothpicks compared to the rest of his body? I understand he did add 10-15 lbs between his rookie year to his 2nd year. But wasn't that just muscle to his upper body?
