Which Free Agent QB to choose?

They will wait until after the draft so it doesn't affect their comp pick formula.

Or just draft a replacement. There's nothing wrong with say
Dak
Rourke
Grier

The season would be over if Dak gets hurt for a significant period of time anyway.
If the Cowboys thinking that if Dak goes down the season is over then this is ridiculous! There are plenty of QB's that can do 90% of what Dak brings to the table.

I don’t know why anyone would want Winston.
He's a veteran who should play as a backup, not a starter. But if Dak goes down, they will need someone who is ready today and not 3 months from now! Winston, while at times he is an int machine, he has gotten better and he can still really spin it!

Flacco! A rookie QB would need a SB winner to show him the way, and if Flacco gets in the game CeeDee might go for 200.
MAYBE!!?? Everyone thought Flacco was done years ago but he just keeps ticking along! Wouldn't hate it!

The Jones’ have said they are looking at free agent QB’s so which one? I can’t believe they would go into the season with a banged up Dak, no Cooper Rush, Will Grier and a rookie to be named later. So which one of these? Not a strong group but my pick believe it or not is Jamis Winston. AR and RW want to start so maybe Winston or Ridder?
  • Aaron Rodgers.
  • Russell Wilson.
  • Jameis Winston.
  • Joe Flacco.
  • Drew Lock.
  • Carson Wentz.
  • Desmond Ridder.
  • Trey Lance.
Flacco would make sense based on what he's been able to do as a replacement. However, I think he'll cost too much.

ESPN has rumors that we may be interested in Patriots backup Joe Milton III.

Milton is the guy they should get.

I'd have no trouble trading one of the fifths for him (rather than spending it on a rookie QB), but it is reported that New England wants a Day 2 pick after drafting him last year with a sixth.

What I'd offer is a conditional pick next year. If he makes the roster, they get a fifth. If he makes the roster and is the No. 2 QB, they get a sixth. If he starts two or more games, they get a third. If he starts nine or more games, they get a second.

That would give them incentive to trade him and give us some control over what pick they get.

I'd sign a veteran QB2, for a year, so the Pats would only get a late round pick.

Which may be why the Pats wouldn't do it. They don't have to get rid of Minton just because they picked up Dobbs. They are just trying to cash in on him playing well in the preseason and looking like he could be at least a quality backup against Buffalo's reserves in the last game.

He can move the ball with his feet and has always had a big arm, but if they have helped him improve his processing/accuracy, then he might be at least as good as anything we could get late in the draft. But New England may think he's worth more than that.

Just keep Lance if that’s the case. He looked like the lights finally came on vs the Commodes at home.
