With the offseason minicamp officially in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look forward as far as the Dallas Cowboys are concerned. This season is one built around supremely high expectations, and it’s going to be interesting to see how much America’s Team can live up to them.

There are a lot of ebbs and flows to an NFL season. You’ve got a hodgepodge of hype, disappointment, thrills, statements, proclamations, letdowns, game-winners, and a occasionally a quarterback situation that defines perhaps the most storied franchise in the game’s history. Standard stuff.

When thinking about the season we imagine various scenarios, but they depend on the most important thing in sports - winning. We want the Cowboys to win (shocker I know) and we want them to win all the time.

While winning is who we hope to be, the truth of an NFL season is something Mrs. Gump called long ago. We have no idea what we’re going to get, but there’s usually a time of year where we can sort of figure it out.

At least thew first 4 games against our division, maybe Raiders, Broncos, and KC.

If the Giants beat us 2x this year, I'll be depressed. That means having a good Dline and spending money on it far outweighs spending money on an Oline. They have basically done the opposite of what we have done.

  • They brought in big name defensive free agents and we have attempted to build through the draft.
  • They invested heavily in the Dline and we spend on the Oline
It's time to see what philosophy is better! Go cowboys

NFC Championship game.

They have to earn the right to be in that game first.
I don't think they have to be the 1st seed. 2nd seed will be acceptable.
But they absolutely must win that divisional playoff game....
The bar rises once that is achieved... after that, I'm with ya... and after that, SB Trophy.
Hopefully, they reach each goal this year.
