will sell the most season tickets next year? That is what is first on Jerry's list. Who is everyone's prediction based on this assumption?

I don't necessarily believe that is of the most importance to Jerry when selecting the next head coach, although you never know with that baffoon.

My guess is Garrett will be the guy though. I think he has as good of a chance as anyone, provided he brings in some experienced coordinators, and definately needs to have a couple very good defensive minds on this staff next year. He deserves a chance though.

I think it's 50/50. But like you said, you never know with Jerry. Although i will say that with so many Head Coaches and coordinators about to be fired, that leaves a lot of experienced coaches to bring on as coordinators with Garrett remaining the head coach.

Using just that assumption, I would say Gruden in a landslide.

I think Garrett lost his shot to coach the Cowboys unless they somehow upset the Eagles or Jerry keeps him because of the pending lockout. That does not mean I think JG is a bad coach. I think he will be a great Coach.

Wins, will sell the most tickets next year. As Madden told JJ, the Cowboys sell themselves, get a HC who will win and they'll keep on selling. The Cowboys don't need a big name HC to sell tickets, they just need to WIN...

The one thats wins the most will sell the most tickets.

If he hires a coach for anything other than being the best coach he can get at this time, its a lousy move. Fans can get po'd and whine and cry about whomever the choice is, but if the team wins, they'll shut the hell up and go to the games and be happy about it.

Based on your assumption which I also believe to be true, I think Jeff Fisher, if released, will generate the most buzz, excitement, and thus....sales. As Deion said, Jerry sells hope and Fisher would have the media saying that Dallas is one of the teams to beat next year which will make me vomit.
If Fisher not released, and Holmgren doesn;t crawl oout of Cleveland for a chance to get back on the sidelines, then I suspect Gruden will be a Cowboy.

I would give him a chance but honestly he has not done much in Tenn to deserve the hoopla he gets. in 16 season he has had 5 winning season?

Cowher would create the most buzz, in my opinion.

Second on the list would be Fisher if the Titans fire his arse.

Why would hiring a coach with 6 playoff seasons in 17 yrs and only one super bowl berth (and that wasnt even in this century) generate any buzz?

I like the guy as a HC, but I think alot of people are vastly exaggerating how good of a coach he is.

I agree Tenn went into the season with high expectations just like Dallas and they have underachived just like Dallas. Why that would excite anyone I'm not sure.

And thats happened several times under them there.

Then there's the fact that they've had HFA 4 times, and not one of those times ended with a super bowl berth. Thats bad too. When you have HFA you are in most instances a solid favorite in your conference, when you constantly fall short in those cases, something is wrong.

The Cowboys sell themselves with a lot of help from the sports media. When the media walks away then the wins will be crucial.

I'm curious how many media talking heads will have the Cowboys as preseason locks for the Super Bowl next year.

I agree. I think people get caught up on the sideline appearance more than the work he has done. Break it down and nothing he has done would fly in Dallas and the same people hollering for him today would be calling for his head based on the work he has done.

The media has always followed the Cowboys regardless of wins and losses. We are the most loved and hated team in the league. Fans love to see us lose and fans love to see us win, we'll always generate interest through the media. We're AMERICAS TEAM and we always get attention be it good or bad. Again, as Madden told JJ, the Cowboys sell themselves. Get a HC who will win...

You can thank Tom and Tex for building the Cowboys...because record wise since the SB's in the 90's this team has been below average compared to others. There is a charisma to this team that was built long ago.

First off I don't care if it is Santa as long as we win, but Fisher has done more then people think..First he is has to play the Colts twice a year. that takes away from Div. titles. Here is some info on the past years:

Jeff Fisher is entering his 16th full season as Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans and his 11th as Executive Vice President. Fisher holds the franchise record for wins by a head coach with 141 victories and is the NFL leader in tenure with one team among active coaches. Entering this season, he ranks 20th on the NFL’s career head coaching wins list and third among active coaches (Belichick, 163; Shanahan, 154).
Over the last 11 seasons (1999-2009), Fisher has guided the franchise to six playoff appearances – only three teams (Indianapolis, Philadelphia and New England) have more appearances during that time. During his tenure, his accomplishments include six playoff appearances (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008), three Division titles (2000, 2002, 2008), two AFC Championship Games (1999, 2002) and one Super Bowl berth (XXXIV). With 91 victories during the 2000’s, Fisher directed the franchise to the most successful decade in franchise history (1990’s – 88 wins).

And I've heard repeatedly over the years on DFW radio that Jerry has tremendous respect for Fisher. That's huge in the particular situation that exists here, IMO.

Cowher has done more. I don't want Fisher here. I'd rather have Garrett. Cowher and possibly Harbaugh are the only coaches I'd rather have than Garrett.
