Which of the past 5 seasons was the most difficult?

As a Cowboys fan, since Romo was inserted as the starter mid-way through 2006 - we've dealt with some serious highs and lows. Before efore that none of us, especially in hindsight, could say that we had serious/realistic expectations for those teams to win a Super Bowl. The reason I chose this time period is because IMHO that's the point when I felt this team became contenders again. And with expectations comes disappointment, so which of these was the toughest for you?

2006 The beginning of the Romo era and BP's last hoorah, the excitement was back in Dallas. After controlling much of the game, a FG that's converted 99.9% of the time, ends our season and we're left without a coach and a concern on how the team and especially it's first year QB could handle bouncing back.

2007 Enter Wade Phillips, the team shows up hungrier and dominates a 'weak' schedule on the way to a first round bye. Rematch against a team we beat twice in the regular season by 10+ points, ends in them spraypainting our locker room on the way to a Super Bowl title.

2008 The chemistry of the team begins to rattle, Owens drama, a broken pinky, and a 44-6 drubbing by a hated division rival in a win and you're in game - left fans picketing outside the Ranch.

2009 After 3 consecutive disappointing years, the team bounces back, puts to bed the 'can't win in December' mantra, dominates the hated Eagles in the most satisfying fashion you could imagine - and gets the playoff king-kong off of the team and especially Tony Romo's back. Same team goes up to Minny and gets worked to the tune of 34-3.

2010 The most obvious answer may be wrong. Words can't describe the disappointment every Cowboys fan experienced. Expectations were immediately destroyed by starting 1-7, Romo breaks his collar bone, and the team finally seemed to get exposed defensively and some poor offseasons began to really take their toll. At the same time we saw the emergence of a bonified baller in Dez Bryant and Garrett has seemed to encite an unexplainable confidence in many fans about the 2011 Cowboys. So while it was a titanic collapse, many areas got exposed that needed to be. A high draft pick and a new attitude in the defensive coaching staff could be the ticket.

Without a doubt, to me, a patriot and a fan, the past season.

Did another season have so many expectorations and hope for a final, methodical march to the Super Bowl and the monkey would be off Wade
's back. And Jerra's.

Last season sucked. I felt cheated by the lack of effort and preparation ah, a patriot, saw. Oh, it was horrible, we hoped something would intervene in this dismal disappointment of a dynamic, but not durable, dull at times and disproportionately heavy with diefied drones of deigned dependability.

In short, mens, it came down hard and embarrassed that clown Wade but we got a good coach in Garrett.
Put me down for 2010 as the suckiest season.

2010 by far. There were so many expectations and so many losses. At least we got to have some semblance of swagger in 2006 through 2009. There was always hope somewhere. In 2010, there was no hope. It was all downhill.

The reason I didnt pick 2010 is because I clocked out after the Green Bay loss. It was like whatever.

Knew Wade would be a complete failure, his record as a headcoach was glaring, too easy on players and had no power to dicipline them, training camp and practices were a joke..
T.O was a cancer in the locker room
The team needs a real GM, Jerry wearing to many hats and over evaluates the talent on his team.
Didn't surprise me about this teams failure last year, all anyone needed to do was put the tape in and watch the playoff game in Minnesota to see where the problem lies. The offensive line is old, and not athletic. Team didn't address the real issues along the line.
Martellus Bennett is a wasted pick, another high second round pick that never lived up to expectations, and the word on him was out before he was even drafted.
2008 draft was a complete failure,drafting for backups and special teams player is never a winning strategy
NOT spending higher picks on offensive linemen, bargain basement/reduce bin shopping is a failing strategy

In Wade's defense, he did go 33-15 in 3 seasons here. Won us our first playoff game in a decade a half, and won a very strong division 2 out of 3 years.

I understand the position.

I just felt that after this season it became understood that changes needed to be made.

After 07, 08, and 09 I felt like very little was done to improve our club and a certain sense of unjustified arrogance was developed within the locker room and front office.

After last year it was understood that changes needed to be made across the board. So at least something good came out of 2010, can't say the same for every other season but 2009.

I think it was this past season by a country mile.

2008 was gut wrenching, but it was mostly the last few weeks that were really, really bad.

This year, they just kept finding ways to kick you in the face from week 1 on.

It's a tie between 07 and this year. If TO doesn't get hurt in 07 I feel like they win it all. If they didn't poop their pants this year...they might have come close.
