Which of these low profile young backup returnees will do the most damage in 2006?

We have the glory boys like Drew Henson or Tony Romo.

The high expectation draft picks like Kevin Burnett or Andre Gurode.

And the unexpected starters or contributors such as Rob Petitti, Tyson Thompson, Willie Pile or Scott Shanle.

How about the rest? Do you think we have a good prospect in any of these low profile young backups on the team? Which players do you think will be the biggest surprises in 2006?

Who do you think is in danger of not making the team this year?

Some of them got some time in the last few games but most of them really didn't see much playing time, either because of injuries or their spot on the depth charts.

Any hidden gems?

I think Reeves is definately a good candidate, he looked good in a backup role when Henry was down. Showed me something making a great play at the end of the Philly game to preserve the win. If one of our cb's goes down I feel confident that he can step up.

I thought Thornton looked very solid in pre-season last year. He made some solid tackles and wowed the crowd on occasions when he was in the game. Of course, it was pre-season against mostly second stringers, but his domination of the second stringers should suggest that he is at least average against the starters.

I voted for Beriault just because I thought no one else would but then to my surprise I saw he was 2nd in the voting!

Personally, I would love to see this kid WIN the starting FS spot in TC and preseason. I don't know why he intrigues me so much but the thought of him and Roy on the field together gives me a sense of Waters & Harris all over again.

Is it just me or does Ratliffe have a pointed head?

At this point, it'll have to be Johnson. He is the ONLY backup right now to Ferggy and has the best chance to make a real impact.

There are a couple you don't have on there that I think will have a good shot at making the roster, Matt Tarullo G/C and Jamica Rector WR/CB/KR.
