Everyone has their favorite television theme song. Please post your favorites in this thread but which of the poll options do you like most?

These are my top three. I was kind of surprised that I choose Hawaii Five-O over Dallas but it is the one theme that has stuck with me my whole life. (IMPORTANT: Choose carefully. A vote cannot be changed afterwards).

After our recent discussion, I'm surprised the theme to M*A*S*H isn't one of the three.

I remember getting that anxious, excited feeling every time I heard that song start.

I definitely did not intend to give that impression, lol. The M*A*S*H theme is solidly on my list but way down from these three.

There are other 1970's series intros in particular that I would put ahead of it. The Wonder Woman theme is one right off the top of my head I would list above it somewhere for example.

There are SO many television series themes that have nested inside my brain since birth. You got me thinking now. Both the original and remastered Battlestar Galactica themes are up there above M*A*S*H for me. Good Times. The cartoon Transformers. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire. Star Trek: Voyager. The classic The Young and The Restless instrumental (I still call it Nadia Comaneci's Theme after the Romanian gymnast :) Dang, I am getting old  ).

Gonna get longwinded if I am not careful. I will add I do consider the M*A*S*H iconic.

Okay. All of you blame @Runwildboys for my nostalgia trippin' :muttley:

For the older posters who watched Starsky & Hutch. Which theme intro did you like best? Season 1 or 2? I love the change for the second season but still give the edge to season 1:

I am checking myself into the psych ward.

After going back when I realized the poll did not create with the thread and corrected THAT, I went ahead and voted.

For Dallas.

Instead of Hawaii Five-O.

And I'M the nincompoop telling everyone else to be careful when they make their choice.:p

I wouldn't have even been able to place the first one. I definitely prefer the second one.

Dallas for me just because it brings back so many memories. We had 1 TV with 3 channels through rabbit ears. We didn't watch what I wanted to watch, we watched what my parents wanted to watch. I grew up on Dallas, Falcon Crest, and one of the most underrated talent portals of all time Hee Haw.

For me personally I'd have to include The Dukes Of Hazard, The Jefferson's, and Magnum PI as TV music I'll never forget.

I love the GoT theme, but the Hawaii 5-0 theme is iconic.

I mainly saw reruns of the original Hawaii 5-0 when I was young, but I did watch some of the rebooted Hawaii 5-0 and was very happy they used a theme based on the original one.

I think TV show themes have less of impact these days simply because there are way more shows being produced due to streaming.

There were a lot less TV shows being produced pre-1990 and a lot more focus was put on creating great themes for them that were defining, recognizable and rememberable.

When our son was an infant, two shows we watched a lot were Cheers (me) and Magnum, P.I. (wife) and he got to know their music intros. He'd wake up out of a sleep if he heard either. You never saw two people dash for the tv leaping over toys and things to turn down the sound when those shows were just coming on so that he'd stay asleep.
