Which players do you think will get quality minutes (not necessarily a starter) by the last game of the season? I'm excited by everything I read about our rookies but I've been through this before. Every year we hear great things about so and so only to never see them in a game. Who do you think can end up with some quality minutes by the end of the season? I'm already pumped after the things I've read and think Parcells may have had one of the best Cowboys drafts ever.
DeMarcus Ware - If he's not starting week one, then we have been flat out lied to with these LT comparisons.
Marcus Spears - Injury is going to slow him down tremendously and so will any surprise play by Kenyon Coleman but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he'll be getting starter minutes by the end of the year.
Kevin Burnett - I read a lot of good things about him early in camp. It seems like everyone is drooling over Ware now, but I'm going to remain optimistic and hope he is a starter by the end of the year.
Marion Barber - Not sure at all. Quality vet. Surprise undrafted rookie. And Julius Jones of course. Cloudy future with this guy.
Chris Canty - This is a leap of faith but I'm hoping that Marcus Spears' injury will give Canty more time and he can threaten someone like Greg Ellis by the end of the year. I hope he just keeps getting bigger. It would be sweet if he ends up as the steal some said he was.
Justin Beriault - A lot of surprising things written about Justin in training camp. He's been mentioned often as that low round pick that keeps surprising people with big plays. The free safeties allegedly look awful so far so maybe Parcells will stop playing him behind Roy. I think if Beriault gets quality minutes, it's probably because our other safeties were huge disappointments.
Rob Petitti - Thought he had a fair shot at tackle until Jacob Rogers came out of nowhere. I don't think Petitti will be getting any big minutes if these reports of Rogers are true. I'm thinking an injury is the only thing that will launch Petitti into the grind early.
Jay Ratliff - Not enough proof yet that he's going to force himself into big minutes on the roster. Who knows though with some of these injuries?
Tyson Thompson - If he continues the way they talk about him, he's going to force one of those backups off the roster. Maybe quality minutes returning kicks? Too early to tell on Thompson.
Others - Maybe one of the rookie linebackers surprises people?
DeMarcus Ware - If he's not starting week one, then we have been flat out lied to with these LT comparisons.
