Purdy signs for 5 years at $265 mill

Eagles paid Wentz. Realized it was a mistake. Drafted hurts. And won a SB.

This is all while Dallas can’t get out of the divisional round. The last decade this has happened.

SBs for Philly. 2. Appearances. 3.

Do I need to do Dallas?
The Eagles did a lot more with their team than just replace the starting quarterback. Nick Foles helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl. He played for 6 different teams. Overall team construction and coaching matters.

No it does not. It only works to the outcome you want it to be. And we know what that agenda is.
2024- 44,624,800
2025- 50,518,430
2026- 74,068,430
2027- 68,385,783
2028- 78,385,783 Then add in the 9,150,000 they stuck on to void.

I then opened up calculator on my desktop and added them all up. It came out to 325,133,226. I then divided by 5. It averages out to 65,026,645 per year. But you don't have to believe those numbers.

Ironically, they did two things we need to do.

1. Install a legit d-line rotation anchored by a stud in the middle. They had a legit eight-man rotation led by the player we should have drafted, Fletcher Cox.
2. Added known, productive vets Legarrette Blount and Jay Ajayi to give them a legit run game.

the dak bots are funny
Whatever. You and others hatred for Dak makes any argument you guys make sound silly. I root for any QB for the boys to succeed. It is infantile name calling someone a "Dak Bot". I am a fan of the team.

Once full detail come out it will be interesting to see how the guaranteed money is structured and the potential out for the 49ers.

no, you are a fan of Dak before the team
so that makes you a Dak Bot

Okay so I followed the convo and replied it to show that I never once said it was Dak’s fault. You said that I need to prove something is Dak’s fault and I still have no clue what you’re talking about.

The salary cap is a team resource. That’s a fact. Purdy averages 53 million APY and Dak averages 60 Million APY. Those are facts. Every team has the same salary cap. So 60 is higher than 53. Therefore Dak is taking up more resources than Purdy. Are you asking me to prove what fault Dak has with his contract. I can prove that Dak demanded:
4 years 240 million contract, 60 million APY
NTC
231 guaranteed money

Dak had to ask for that. He knew what he was asking for and therefore it’s his “fault” he demanded an extremely unfriendly team contract. How did Dak get everything he wanted unless he demanded it.
I am asking what players could we not sign because of his contract. If there is a player they really wanted, they could clear cap room to get. I can care less about the difference in the contracts. Yes $7 million could go to a FA or toward Micah, or whatever.

It is just the FO deciding if they want that or not.
It is not Dak preventing them form not signing players.

However, fans will have varying opinions. And I am not defending Dak nor the FO. That is just how I see it.
And I am not a big Dak fan either. I preferred they let him play out his contract and possibly they could have moved on.

What I was saying you can't say Purdy is actually $45 million per year, because he is getting only $5 million this year. Come next year, it will be $53 million.

Dak's new deal does not include a rookie contract to offset the average as much as Purdy's.

How would fans ever know? They were not signed. The concern is the same person that thought it was a good idea to sign Dak Prescott to an unprecedented contract is involved in every decision regarding building the Cowboys’ roster. The salary cap in the NFL means owners can’t just throw money at players and expect to win a Super Bowl.

I'm not trying to say something is good or bad, or trying to blame anyone. Just giving the raw numbers going forward. Of course it's much easier with Purdy.

It's not 53 million starting next year. I see what you're saying, but no team ever does that. They'll take the last year of his rookie contract, add it to the extension and structure it any way they want over the course of 6 years. They could do it just like you said, but no one ever does that. They'll take the 270 and spread it out over 6 years. We can revisit this when the contract details are posted. I guarantee he's not making 3-5M for 2025.
