Which play in the game epitomizes this season for you?

For me, it’s the very last play of the game.

This play had all the elements that characterize toe 2010 season thus far. The situation was one of desperation. Cowboys found themselves trying hard to make a big play one play too late. A 2010 Classic!

It was a circus play at its finest - lateralling the ball backwards and sideways in an attempt to move forward. And it would not be the epitomic play without that penalty of an illegal forward pass; it’s only fitting that this 2010 Cowboys team gets penalized for moving forward.

But the play was not dead yet. And even the TV announcer said “you never know it could be on Minnesota” but not even these Cowboys gave themselves the benefit of the doubt. Nope. towards the end of the play, before the whistle was dead there was a team leader, Jason Witten (At least I think it was him), giving up on the play coming his way before the whistle blew it dead, pulling up and just stood there watching the opposing defender land on the fumble.

Ho Hum. Ho Hum. Tweetle-Dee and Twittle-Dumb.

That play had all of it – everything that characterizes these 2010 Dallas Cowboys.

Frankly, I got a pit in my stomach when Miles Austin leapfrogged over RWilliams and was called for excessive celebration. Immediately realized when he did it that we would be called for same penalty as last week. Believe, or at least I've been told, that leapfrogging is expressly forbidden.

Anway, not only couldn't I believe that Austin, whose always shown a low-key reaction when he himself scores, would do anything so stupid but I also realize that for whatever reason, he either ignored Wade or Wade & rest of coaching staff didn't come out and fully state to the team that with our record, he doesn't want to see any celebrations in the endzone. They can wait til the team is off the field and do it on the sidelines. Geez.

And by the way, RWilliams said he didn't know anything about what Austin did. Just all of a sudden felt/saw Austin coming over top of him. Not only a stupid play which lead to a penalty (thank God our defense did great job for no score by the Vikes) but either Austin could have hurt himself or RWilliams, and then what.

Also, I think the first 2 penaties on Dallas were classic 2010 Cowboys also.

First was Austin's personal foul for celebrating. Player celebration was the big controversy all week. So instead of learning from it and stopping it these dumb players glorified it and got another penatly.

But that wasn't enough. Next up was the attempt to mitigate it by kicking the ball towards the sdeline. Only problem was that David "The Folk" Buehler kicks it out of bounds. Brilliant!

30 Yards in penalties back to back and both occured when the ball was never in play. NEVR IN PLAY I say! That's what was so idiotic about these penalties - that they were related in multiple ways and characteristic of a DUMB & BAD 2010 Dallas Cowboys football team.

3rd and 1... Barber is 5 for 5 on 3rd and 1 in the game... a pass play is called... no play-action... the middle linebacker for the Vikings makes a play we wish our linebackers would make

For me, it was Miles' TD that was called back. A successful play derailed by a questionable call...pretty much a microcosm of our season thus far IMO...

The one that set the tone?.....was the last play in the 1st half against the Commanders....

First off.....We should of took a knee....blame Wade...blame Garrett....

Second...was...bad decision again by Romo.....throw it away.....slide....pitch the ball? Really?....what did he think he would gain by that? Just like alot of players we have.....stupid...stupid...stupid...:bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

Third....Choice....hit the ground...end the half...why fight for more yards? Really? You really thought you were going to take it to the house on that play? Really? Once again.....stupid....stupid......stupid....:bang2: :bang2:

Blame the coaches......but this is a total team effort......Sure coaching is to blame....but there has to be some accountablility on the players. They make certain decisions that coaching cant control.....cant coach you....etc.

This was going to be my choice.

We just have a game changing penalty on the last game for excessive celebration and we go and do it again.

Whether someone feels it should or should not be a penalty...with the way this team is racking up penalties (deserved or not for the ref conspiracy theorists) that was a stupid stupid stupid thing to do. Because you just don't take stupid chances that can hurt the team when you have been called for it before.

Let the guy throw his horns up, go over and high five him, slap him on the helmet or whatever...just don't do that.

It kind of shows that lack of learning and the worst part is it came from one of the more classy and seemingly disciplined players on the team.

Stupid Stupid Stupid.

I saw him jump over Roy and I thought to my self...You got to be blanking kidding me...seriously he did not just do that with all of the penalties we have racked up over this season and even if it should not be a penalty you know the refs are going to call it anyway.

I'll try to be different since the play I would pick (Barron hold) was said pretty quickly.

I'll go with the PI call on Mike Jenkins on 3rd down late it the fourth quarter. Once again, our defense comes up just short. A stop on 3rd down and Dallas gets the ball with about 2 minutes to go and only needing a FG to get to OT. Dun dun dunnnnnnnn .... YELLOW FLAG TIME! Was it PI on Jenkins? Yes. Does that kind of contact usually get called at that point in the game? No, but you can't rely on "well that usually doesn't get called." Jenkins has to make a clean play there. We get the dumbest penalties called on us because we're a mistake prone team. At that point, you just need to play perfect.

And for those of you who think Jenkins is a better corner than Newman ... think again. Newman > Jenkins and its not very close. It was questionable to say Jenkins was better than Newman last year; this year, Jenkins has regressed. He looks like Peter Hunter in coverage sometimes. I hope he gets back on track soon.
