Wow, that’s some great information. I had no idea the Patriot’s schedule was that weak in 2008. That makes their 11-5 record look even worse than it is.

Belichick is not a magician. He needs Brady to be successful.

I think he is really good on the defensive side of the ball but the offense was Brady and the OCs.

Having the benefit of knowing how their careers went it would be hard not to pick Brady. Not only would you be drafting a QB that won 6 Super Bowls and appeared in 9 of them but you would have stability at the QB position for 20 years.

Marino and I don't think it's even close.

Great player but puzzling choice considering he never won a championship and there’s several QBs ranked ahead of him. He only played in one Super Bowl. He wouldn’t even make my top 10.

Man, you really need to check your mode of evaluation. Marino is easy top 10. Close to top 5.

Belichick will have an opportunity this season to prove he doesn’t need Brady to be successful. Likewise Brady has the opportunity to prove he doesn’t need Belichick.

It will be an interesting story to follow this year.

Very true. But if Brady can lead his team to a playoff win or two at his age, and if the Patriots don’t have a strong season without Brady, that would go a long way towards answering the question.

Arians said that before making the move, they studied every Brady play the last couple of years.
He thinks Brady is an outstanding fit.
For the brief stint that he had Gordon and Brown last year, he was near the top in the league in deep ball accuracy and ypa.
Plus Arians does have check down options in his scheme.

Either way, at this point Im starting to wonder if they'll have a full season.

my offensive number 1 pick in history would be Roger The Dodger Staubach. Dude may have been the most clutch QB that ever played. Leadership was off the charts. My defensive number 1 overall pick would be a toss up between Derrick Thomas or Charles Haley. I know everyone loves LT...and I do too..but if the goal is to hoist Lombardy's..you must consider what Charles Haley did in his career..even greater than LT. That guy was a steal when he was drafted. Played like a beast for what 15 years? My GAWD...and was unblockable..a game changer. He's responsible IMO, for why we won all 3 SB'S. Derrick Thomas was of the Charles Haley ilk..just a bad man on the field and couldnt be stopped. SO Roger and Haley would be my guys.

Hard to argue that. I chose Roger because of how he elevated a team almost immediately. Roger had charisma for days that almost made your hair stand up when he got on the FB field. Teams feared him at the end of games..much like Brady now.

"Fantasy Football" wise I'd draft a QB...either Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, or Patrick Mahomes...but not the first round!
