I believe that each year, what separates the winning teams from the rest of the pack is having guys step up and make a difference. Looking at our current roster, who do you see taking on a bigger role next year?

I could see it coming from a player like Burnett. He was hampered by injuries at the beginning of his career. He played a lot more last year and I heard his name with some consistency. If he breaks into the lineup, he may be a real player for us, IMO.

Who do you see as a dark horse for us? Why?

Chris Canty. He's on the verge of becoming a terrific player, and I think '08 will be his breakout year.

I'm hoping that it will be Canty and/or Spencer, and with Canty having been here longer, I'm inclined to think that it would, more than likely be Canty.

I think the most noticeable will be the guy that wasn't on the roster last season, Zach Thomas.

I really hope so.
+1 he would help this defense so much if he made a few plays here and there. but if i had it my way Darren McFadden would be the one to step up.:D

Still waiting for DMAC, huh? :)

It has to be Spencer. If he did we would be a much much much harder team to beat. I wanna see alan ball in pre season. Who knows the coaches like him.

It is hard to imagine a team with 13 players needing someone to step up, but we do. The guy I want to step up is our QB, Tony Romo. I want him to be the guy who takes this team to the next level and the entire team follows his lead. Both sides of the ball. I want to see him so unstoppable that teams get desperate.

The thing is, I believe he can. As good as he was last year, I think there's another level yet to be achieved.

I think A Ball can surprise. I think he was a 4 year starter in college as well - no easy feat.

The coaches think he has some very good man on man coverage skills. He just needs to get stronger (he's a rail thin) and get some more experience.

till he's been drafted. but if i could choose 1 player other than fatboy it would be spencer. ellis only gives you a pass rush. he's better than spencer but spencer can atleast hide when he's coming or dropping back in coverage. just watching the game on tv i can tell when ever ellis is gonna be in coverage cause he gives it away.

Isaiah Stanback(sp) has 2 Kickoff Returns for TD's. Bank on it.

 Romo was the first person I thought of when I saw the thread title. He's already the 3rd best QB in the league, IMO, yet he still has so much room for improvement. As long as we have Romo, we're going to be competitive.

#38 needs to step it up, he could really do wonders for this defense if he does. Romo still played really good, but I feel that he can step it up and play even better. My sleeper is Stan, he's going to be a huge surprise.
