Cornerback is a sneaky number 1 need. With players like Johnson, Amos, Revel, etc available in the first two rounds I can see a WR/Cornerback pairing in the first two rounds.
If they really liked Kupp then the best 2 receivers that fit that short area quickness profile and route precision are Ebuka (way to early) and Jack Beck who’s more late 2nd early 3rd.Some areas that have not addressed in fa could point to their road map of what they want to accomplish in the draft:
WR-did try to sign Kupp, but lost Cooks and only signed Campbell. They brought in 3 1st rd targets as 30 visits.
NT/1T-there is zero chance they go into next season with only Mazi Smith and a bunch of ps prospects.
RB-anyone think their two signings will even make their final roster? They have been connected to all the top backs and even backs later on.
Slot corner-this is where it gets interesting. Did make a trade for a depth, outside corner in Elam, but just reported Diggs won’t be ready at the start of next season. The Texas safety is a former nickel corner, they have shown interest in other outside corners, will they consider moving Bland back to slot?
I agree CB could certainly be on of the top 3 picks. Diggs is likley playing his final year unless he agree to a salary cut and Bland is a free agent. But we can at least tag Bland to buy some time for a long-term deal or find a quality replacement. They’re taking about trying to resign Bland. That’s probably going to be a contract in the top 5-10 of the position or there’s not much incentive for him to sign early because someone else will offer it next FA. Don’t see them paying that or even contemplate paying that and having him play slot. I’ll be shocked if they don’t take a CB in the first 2 picks. If they can’t trade down to take one of the receivers I wouldn’t be surprised if they took the Johnson kid out of Michigan at 12

Agree, WR/CB makes sense in some combination with a back in the third. If they really liked Kupp then the best 2 receivers that fit that short area quickness profile and route precision are Ebuka (way to early) and Jack Beck who’s more late 2nd early 3rd.
I just can’t see Jerry being willing to give up on Mazi yet even though I’d be thrilled with Tyliek Williams in the 2nd. Think they’ll go 5th or later along with the kid we drafted last year, cut and stole back off the bengals practice squad!
RB same! I wouldn’t be surprised if they waited until the fifth and then tried to snag a back they had rated a round or 2 higher.
