The first four are easy: Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert, Turpin.

I think they likely keep six. So, which two on the current roster have a shot to make the initial 53. And why?

Personally, my two guys are Holden and Cropper.

Holden is fast, and plays like an NFL receiver. His top speed is in the 98th percentile. He's that guy who can make plays on slams or down the field. Not the best route runner, but he gets good separation. To me, Holden is just a better football player at this point. Maybe I'm sleeping on Flournoy, but I'm giving Holden the edge over Flournoy because he plays with that so-called dog in him.

Cropper has been my pet cat since before we acquired him. The guy can just play. He's a bit undersized, but his weight and speed helps him get separation, which is a big part of his game.

Im looking for guys who can separate for WRs 5 and 6.

Why?

Because you always play a few teams that have sticky corners and so you need players with a knack for getting open, which both Holden and Cropper do well.

Not only that, I really like what they can both do after the catch.

I also like these two just for the chemistry they bring. As players, they'd give us more flexibility to run more WCO stuff, which I hope is part of the plan.

I'm not worried about draft picks spent on a player if an UDFA is better. Just go with the better player.

Which WRs do you think makes the roster and why?

The first five are easy. Add Mingo to the list. They aren't keeping either Holden or Cropper over him.

If they go with six then next up is Flournoy.

I will be very surprised if Mingo doesn't make the team considering we just traded a fourth for him.

Mingo will make it so that really only leaves one other. I want it to be Flournoy but they seem to have some obsession with Brooks.

I’m hoping it’s Mingo. I love his physical attributes as a receiver. It’s going to be fun to watch the competition in training camp and preseason games.

Mingo is a lock at WR5

I would say Brooks because he can play gunner and special teams. Cropper is more of a returner type. I really like Holden. If he can play solid special teams he may take the last spot over Brooks because of the potential and being close with the Wr coach.

Mingo being a lock is asinine. The justification because of a fourth in even more ridiculous. The guy hasn't been good since college. I even question if he will ever adjust to the nfl level period. Fourth or not, he is a waste of a roster spot imo.

None of this matters because they had a value on Mingo as a second round pick, he's staying lol

Brooks is a solid route runner and has good hands, but not quite as athletic as I'd like. Doesn't separate like the competition.

The WRs that make the 53 will be the ones left standing after training camp.

We should assume that at least one will miss the majority of the season if not the whole season.

Injuries for the Cowboys are a reality that must be taken into consideration.

Agree. That's one reason why I list Holden and Cropper. That, and I think their ability to separate helps the team more than big bodies.

I will say, I like Flournoy more than j thought upon second look. Hope he developed some this year.

Why is Jamal Brooks always overlooked . He was Rush’s favorite other than 88 . And I think Flournoy with targets can prove his worth . I like both of them . I hope Holden is on the PS as a future contributor. Remember his college coach is the Pokes WR coach .
