Which safety option?

IMO we have a gaping hole at safety (of course the same could be said at LG or MLB). But focusing on safety only, I see four possible solutions. Curious how CZ views them.

1. Make the ET trade. Not for a 1 and 3 but something else. If you can’t resign him you recoup a lot of the draft capital in a comp pick. He would be a huge upgrade and help the new kids in Richards system.

2. Trade up for James. Lots of “experts” claim he will fall out of the top 10. If he does, do you move up and get him? Will cost you but we have the picks to spare and you get him cheap money wise for 5 years.

3. Stay at 19 or move down and draft Josh Jackson out of Iowa. Hate the idea of moving a guy from his college position but a lot of folks think he could be a really good FS. Added bonus of keeping our picks or maybe adding a few more

4. Take Tavarious Moore in the third. Dude is super raw but sounds way too much like Byron Jones to me but the team seems to be all over him. He is by far the cheapest to acquire and pay but is he any good?

I like all 4 options but I would go in this order.

2.
1.
3.
4.

Turning Josh Jackson into a FS is one of the under reported possibilities being floated right now. I could see this happening because If I were to guess at Dallas draft board and then guess at the order players will be drafted I can easily see a scenario where Jackson is the top pick available on Dallas's board at 19.

I would like to see Woods play more in the deep secondary then closer to the line of scrimmage. Draft a Hybrid S/LB to play more in the box such as White, Edmunds or Elliot

1. Thomas is a stud, but the issue with him is all about price. Both in what it would cost to trade for him, and what kind of contract he'd want from us.

2. I'd give up a first and second for James. Dude is going to be a stud.

3. Not big on Jackson, there's probably half a dozen guys I like more at 19.

4. Moore is JJ Wilcox Jr. Don't like him at all.

I think M.J Stewart could be a guy that could be a FS and play corner if needed. Richards seem to like Woods at FS and Frazier at SS. Either way we still need to draft someone or two

I say sign the 25 year old that has already shown the ability to be at least an above average NFL safety. Tre Boston is still sitting out there and we have plenty of cap space.

if we don't trade for Thomas,I'd rather draft 1 of the following.
•Tavarius Moore,S Miss
•Terrell Edmunds,Va Tech
•Kyzir White,WVa
•Deshon Elliott,Texas

It seems Moore is rising fast...if we want him,we're gonna have to do it maybe in the 2nd....which means we miss out on a LB or DT or OG....if we can get him in the 3rd great.
But I think by then he'll be gone.
Edmunds and White seem like what we already have so I think if its not Moore in the 2nd,it'll be Deshon Elliott in the 4th.

I’d like to get Shaq Griffin and convert him to SS and I would like to get Terrell Edmunds. Smoe late round guys I like are Stephen Parker and Tre Flowers.

interesting idea on Shaq.
they had a private work-out with Dorian O'Daniel...some think he might convert to S.

Yeah whenever I saw Shaq he looked to small for a LB and with his speed and tackling ability just looks like an in the box safety. When I see him I think of Kam Chancellor.

O’Daniel is not ringing a bell I’ll have to look him up.

Or take Deshon Elliot in the 3rd instead...

from Clemson...weighs like a safety.

1) SEA asking for too much, an paying ET is too much. Pass.

2) I wouldn't trade up for anybody, DAL is several players away. Pass.

3) Turn a CB to a FS? Pass.

4) Haven't seen anything from T. Moore suggesting a 2nd-6th round draft pick. Pass.

Draft Edmunds, Elliott, or Walker.
