I use ad-aware and I want to use a spyware program as well. I am looking for a free one that's pretty easy to use. Thanks

Do not know if it is still free but Spybot was a good one...you might do a search for that one.

Microsofts Antispyware program is free, for now
I really like it. It's cleared my machine out when the other programs couldn't.

spybots still free, but it doesn't detect much anymore, except for the fact that i have my notifications from windows security center disabled :bang2: i'd go with microsofts anti-spyware program, as in my experience it's detected most everything... all else fails i install the panda antivirus trial and that gets everything, even stuff i didn't know about

I use all 3. Spyboy, adaware, and MS. Each one seems to pick up things the other ones don't

bingo. : )

don't rely on just 1 if you're serious about being "safe".

For the record -

Spyboy and even AdAware are crap products. Yes even the registered one. IF you really are serious about being protected then go get the Pc Tools products.

www.pctools.com

These tools update daily and scan your system each time at startup. If you still have issues then you need HiJackThis. This tool is not for your everday user. It can mess up your PC if you dont know what your looking for. I suggest for those leary of deleting anything HiJackthis finds then post it here and I can sort through it and tell you the bad stuff to remove. HIJackThis scans and gives you a printed log of stuff - like this

HiJackThis Log

Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

P.S.

There are some trojans running loose now that are impossible to delete the problematic files unless you delete while rebooting. You can get this great lil tool called KillBox.EXE to do just that. Great utility to keep on your PC.

Good hunting. :D
