Which team is really America's Team?

Yikes! We are losing where it counts. Should have posted which is the most profitable or which has the most band-wagon fans.

I think another 2 or 3 years of this crap, the Cowboys are going to fall off the map as a legit franchise if not already.

But hey, i am told by those that “know football” that Jerry is awesome!

I'm hoping some true blue Cowboy fans can go over to that poll and make a difference!

It's funny though...last year, we heard all about how the Saints were America's Team. That didn't last long, did it? LOL! ESPN should start calling the Super Bowl teams America's "Flavor of the Month" :lmao2:

I love the idiot that thinks Don Meredith is the person that gave the Cowboys the America's Team nickname. People are just flat out stupid and deserved to be slapped for their stupidity. Oh and I think a more important question is, if the Cowboys are so damn irrelevant, why then is there a poll including them and the two teams in the Super Bowl? Seems like they're pretty relevant to me, but hey what do I know I just use commons sense.

Did you actually look at the polls? Cowboys were beating pretty badly.

Yes, the Cowboys are getting beat pretty badly...BUT, let's face it: it's Super Bowl week so there is probably a higher interest among fans of the Packers and Steelers to visit that page in the first place.

Every once in awhile ESPN dusts off this idea to anoint some other team with OUR nickname. They will always do this whenever the Packers are involved, and it's just icing on the cake that the Steelers are also involved this year. Last year, New Orleans was still having a Katrina pity party so they thought it was a good idea to try to pin "America's Team" on the Saints.

It won't work. The Cowboys ARE America's Team...the others are "Flavors of the Month" as I said earlier. If you ask 100 people if they know who America's Team is, 90 of them will tell you "Dallas Cowboys". The haters can hate, but it doesn't change a thing.

Thanks to Jerry! He's the reason the Cowboys are suffering so bad in these polls, it's a reflection of his management, ego and greed. But hey he's a billionaire so I guess it's all worth it right!

If the Cowboys were to have a good run of Superbowls similar to what the Steelers have recently they would be at the top of the majority of those polls. This nation is full of fickle folks!

The questions were slanted, and as another said this is Super Bowl week. Aside from that who really cares and as another aside this is a repost.

Its not the online polls which decide who is America's team. Its the TV ratings attendance, even when team is doing bad, that determines that. Every freaking year its same song and dance of who is america's team.

No matter how mulch you freaking hate Jerry, Cowboys are Americas team. That wont change anytime soon. Not one year or two years. Cowboys have to have Detroit type seasons to even make blip in fans not paying attention.

One of the three teams in that poll hasn't played a game in a month, and they're still talking about that team.

That one must be America's team.

Sure, because players like Roger Staubach, Bob Lilly, Bob Hayes helped create the “Americas team” tag line. That and NFL Films because the Cowboys kept losing the big games. Just like Michael Jackson is the “King of Pop” or Howard Stern is the “King of all media”. Those tag lines will always stand because people are familiar with them. People love the star. They love the history. But make no mistake. The Cowboys are falling behind because of this extremely long drought.

Yeah Ok, since you say so. I have been hearing that since 1997.

Well i wonder what those polls would have looked like 10 years ago or 15 years ago. Think they would be the same as today? Pretty sure they Cowboys were winning those polls.

It still amazes me how much Dallas matters to the sports nation. I hate on Jones constantly but he's kept us relevant since he's been here.

Maybe him allowing a young bright coach to sort of do his thing might be the key to Super Bowls, and if it happens, I will bow to Jones. Until then, I will continue to carve that turkey.
