I just thought we could debate this such as which teams has had the best history of having multiple greats at a certain position.

Quarterbacks
Cowboys have to be way up there with Staubach, Aikman, White, Romo and looks like we will be able to eventually throw in Dak but it's too early for that today. That's a long history of good to great QBs. Denver has had Elway and Peyton. I think by a hair I'd go 49ers with Montana Young.

Receivers
It's hard to go against Rice and TO. I hate giving these to 49ers. A close second I'd say Vikings with Moss and Carter. Irvin Witten and TO is pretty good if you throw in Tight Ends. There's not a lot of teams that have had multiple great receivers. Hines Ward and Lynn Swann and you could throw in Antonio Brown deserve a mention for the Steelers.

Running Backs
I'm going Cowboys #1 here, Emmitt Smith, Tony Dorsett, Hershel Walker and Zeke looks to be another great. Bears deserve a mention with Walter Payton and Gale Sayers. Raiders Bo Jackson Marcus Allen, Rams with Dickerson, Faulk and Stephen Jackson, Bills with OJ Simpson and Thurman Thomas. Steelers Franco Harris, Jerome Bettis and Bell for the present/future.

Feel free to make your own list and you can do other positions such as defense if you'd like. Obviously this is just my opinion of players I've seen since watching since the 80's and having some familiarity with players in the 70's. I am not knowledgeable about much before that.

Lynn Swann is the most over rated receiver in the HOF. The Air Coryell Chargers had a much more impressive group of receiving threats than the Steelers during that era. The Cowboys have had better QB's than the 9ers most years, but Montana and Young really are hard to top.

Lets get the obvious out of the way. Best o-lines=Dallas. Best d-lines=Dallas(Doomsday) and Philthy(Brown and White). Best line backing corps=NY Giants. Skins had a monster in Green in the secondary. Best cheerleaders=Dallas.

/Maybe I lean NFC east a bit much but that is who I watch. I dunno, maybe the Falcons or Buccaneers did some awesome things I'm not aware of.

I'd have to put the Steelers DL from the 70s into consideration. That Steelers line was probably the best.

Raiders secondary from the era was nasty as well.

Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes? Probably the best CB duo of all time.

I think we win QB hands down. 49ers really only had 2 franchise QB the past 35 years. We have had 4

Four? That goes back to 1981....start of an era I can very much identify with in Ninerland.

Who is your 4?

Aikman, Romo? Ok, that's two. Are we counting the tail end of Roger Staubach's career?

Bledsoe? Ok, fine, another team's QB.

Dak Prescott? Are we a little premature with him maybe if he's yet to play in a Super Bowl that Kaepernick has already played in?

That's a knock on all young QBs btw.......Wilson, Cam Newton, etc....

Danny White? Wade Wilson?

As for the Niners all time?

You forgetting John Brodie:

Y.A. Tittle

And then a tier below all since 1981, Jeff Garcia, Alex Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Steve Bono. Elvis Grbac may not have been all that but he did win a big game in Dallas once.

You may not think highly of this last list, but give me names of those who were better that wore the star that weren't named as your top 4?

So I think by definition of franchise QB, you are stretching with 4 and dropping SF to 2.

Packers maybe?

Starr, Favre, Rodgers.

7 Championships / Superbowls victories. 5 NFL MVPs.

They also had two other QBs go over 4000 yards in in Majikowski and Dickey.
