Offense or defense? I go offense for right now, seems that our defense usually is the better part of our team in camp and into the beginning of our season. I think it's time for our offense to stop coming out slow without any consistency.

Interested in hearing your thoughts, let's go O!!

Which unit has the best chance to be elite??!

I think the offense has to start faster because that would mean Dak gets off to a fast start. If Dak starts slow I think he plays that way for the entire season and that is a bad thing.

The first game last season we didn't really have a great offensive showing, there were other games I think the saints game and maybe buffalo where the QB didn't even throw the ball that much

It'll be interesting to see how things go, I wish for once we could just have consistency, both offense and defense clicking together at the same time

The problem last year was offensive so this year that is the question

Honestly just look around the league the last couple of years....offenses all over are coming out slow and sluggish especially in the pass game. Through the first three weeks of the season last year the league average for passing yards was only around 190 yards per game or so and average points per game were only around 20PPG.

For that reason it would be extremely nice to see the offense come out firing early on, but it really seems like defenses are ahead of the offenses coming out of camp. Not sure if that is due to a lack of star players (QBs) playing in preseason, defenses evolving year to year, or just practice rules that make it tougher on offenses to get 100% prepared during camp.

This year there is no "warm up game" they better be ready week 1 or they might get embarrassed on national TV. The OL/DL needs to start fast as that game is going to test them both right off the go.

good point, but it seemed like the year of the RB returned, the running game for certain teams looked great around the league, especially the teams that played against us early

You can't fall far behind if your defense is playing well.

Easy answer is offense. As we have seen numerous times, when they dont, both sides of the ball are prone to quick collapses.

Just by looking at how our salary cap is allocated, we need the offense to be strong early and all year round.

This team has to win at least seven of the first ten to have a remote shot from there.

The league did them no favors during crunch time. I can’t recall a tougher stretch in any season.

Then again by the time we get there things could look very different, but with regard to the OP, I’m going to figure that both units need to have their act together early on….or whatever it is that it takes to bank those wins.

They can’t be dropping games to like Chicago, Carolina or the Jets and Giants and expect to be there in the end.

Not just a tougher stretch, but also on a short time frame. 4 games in 18 days, is a tremendous disadvantage, but hey Jerry gets his ratings.

“Eons ahead” of everyone else in ratings and merch sales.

That was his response when questioned on his GM work.

Broaddus had it right.....Offense.

For the first 3 or 4 games, the offense should have a clear edge as defenses won't know our formations or tendencies that is nice.
However, that depends on execution and discipline, those are the absolutes.

The defense has tape, and it all depends on the study. And play calling of the DC .
I'm going to give the edge to the defense. As little mistakes can be covered up as the play goes on. The false start and the offense is cryingI'm going to give the edge to the defense. As little mistakes can be covered up as the play goes on. The false start and the offense is crying.

I think it's important that the offense gets off to a good start because if it's ugly out of the gate, it's likely to get worse instead of better.
