Which way do they go?

In 1970 the Cowboys were a winning team but got embarassed 38-0 by the Cardinals.

The embarassment spurred them to play better. They didn't lose another game that season until the Superbowl where they lost to the Colts. They won their first Superbowl the following season.

Will this team take this as a lesson and play determined football? Or, will they continue to play ho-hum football, and win some-lose some? Ironic that the Cardinals will give us the first clue to the mindset of the team.

how many years do we need to know "Garrett cant do it"? 10, 20, 40?

We dont need a "strong come back game" or to send a message, what we need is a coach who will take control of the team, do his job and put the talent on the field where it needs to succeed. Tell the QB to stop forcing it and make that defense go after the QB. Clock management is still a problem, getting away from works is still a problem and dare i say "tackling" is still a problem and it shouldnt be at this time. Get after the QB get after the QB and when you done tackle him again.

This is the problem of the owner who doesnt understand what he is the owner of. He can accomplish this iwth a smaller team and still have his play ground. THis is not an orginization built for that.

HE has soley forgotten that and until he gets a staff that understands it we just go around in circles.

Who would have figured we'd be looking at a potential crossroads in week 3?

In 2009, they were 1-2 (with one of the losses at Denver to Kyle freaking Orton and Brandon Marshall), and they won the next week in OT at KC as Miles Austin broke out subbing for an injured Roy Williams. Then went into the bye at 2-2 (instead of 1-3), and finished 11-5. Can see some similarities to the current situation. We were all panicking at 1-2.

no, because we had a vet QB, and a whole different team. We also didnt have a young defense that pushed most of the vets out. Two different teams.

when teams have gotten more into the science of the game instead of the "lets wait til the offseason to fix things" Its way more technical today than 20 years ago. 20 , 30 years ago you could kill the QB, now you can barely touch him. different game different era.

I said some similarities. Not identical. 2009 didn't have 3 all pros on the OL, and all-pro RB.
