When the new stadium opens in August for preseason games, do you hope that Jones goes with the usual synthetic grass that we're so used to seeing, or natural grass like Houston and Arizona have?

I want Jerry to go with natural grass. Just something about it, seeing the uniforms scuffed up with a little dirt and some grass stains.

Your thoughts?

I read a while back Jerry decided to go with synthetic. Had like 6 different rolls for various events held at the new stadium (ie Cotton Bowl, college football games)

i dont think natural grass is possible anymore.its not like the cardinals stadium where they rollout the grass field.

The hole in the roof wouldn't allow enough sun to grow real grass.

I think most fans desire real grass, but its not going to happen in Dallas. One of the few things I don't like about being a Dallas fan.

There are only a few teams that even have real grass anymore...gonna have to loosen up about that one :laugh2:

I played a lot of football in high school and college. I much prefer the synthetic grass with the rubber stuff in it to natural grass. It actually is easier to run on and much more stable, in my opinion. I was a offensive linemen so i wasn't doing a lot of cutting or jukeing, but it held up much better when i was pushing against big DL. Towards the end of the season, the natural grass gets worn down a lot from playing on it, especially during a 20 game NFL preseason and regular. I didnt notice more or less injuries on it than natural. The only downside to is it you get little black rubber pieces everywhere and it gets pretty hot in the summer.

Did I somehow offend your obviously delicate senses by stating that I like real grass? Wow.

As did i,and ill tell you right now,as a lineman,i hated playing on a muddy field and i bet most players would say the samething, and when people say they like it,they probably never played on that crap...give me synturf anyday:star:

Heinz Field was voted by players as one of the worst fields to play on. Of course Heinz Field is shared with the Pitt Panthers, and not to mention many high school playoff games are held there as well during the season.

Synthetic will be the best way to go, but I still would love Jerry to give in to the idea of grass.

Seeing that big blue :star: painted in the grass in the middle of the field.

The painted endzones with Cowboys and the helmets painted at both ends. :stetson:

Remember Super Bowl 27 at the Rose Bowl? For me, looking at the grass and then seeing the Cowboys painted endzone was awesome. Never forget it. Same with Super Bowl 30. Just something about a grass football field.

I'm sure the players would prefer natural grass.

A hybrid cross between Penncross Bent and Northern California Sensimillia... you can play 36 holes on it in the morning, take it home and get stoned to the bejesus on it at night...

:D

You hit the nail on the head on that one...Pittsburghs field is a big time ****hole. Couple Steeler fans I know say it all the time.

You've got issues if your field can stick a punt straight up from the ground like a Tiger Woods 8 iron to the green.

Gotta' love Caddyshack!!

I prefer the new turf. It is basically as soft as grass, but you dont have to worry about mud, divets, wasting water, lawn mowers, etc.

One thing I would love to see, at least in the preseason, a light gray field with blue endzones. I think it would look sweet. I would also like to wear Silver jerseys for those preseason games.

IMO, you should have to earn the right to wear the home whites......so you should make the final roster....then the regular whites can be used during the regular season and postseason.

I learned many life lessons from that movie... in particular, Judge Smails' poem has stuck with me:

It's easy to grin
When you ship comes in
And you've got the stock market beat

But the man worthwhile
Is the man who can smile
When his shorts are too tight in the seat...

There's a lot of truth in that... yes, I learned a lot from Judge Smails, it's just too bad he molests collies...
