Which would you rather the Cowboys finish?

Here are my 3 artificial but non-negotiable choices:
  • 3-13, thereby guaranteeing a very high draft pick but indicating we have a very long way to go and necessitating a full-on coaching search
  • 6-10, giving us more wins than losses the remainder of the season and a pretty good draft pick
  • 9-7 but miss the playoffs, giving us a lot of hope and a lot of good football this season but a mediocre draft pick and a good deal of frustration.
These are the only choices. I know we have a chance of making the playoffs at 9-7 and we even could run the table and win the Super Bowl so of course that's what we would all ideally want. I'm not interested in that so choose from the 3 above please.

I'll take 9-7.

9-7. I care about winning seasons, overall win % as a franchise, and finishing strong. That would be.

I'll easily take 9-7, but I don't like how you attach absolutist conditions to the 3-13 finish. Just because we finish 3-13 doesn't mean we have a "very long way to go" and we'll "necessitate" a full coaching search.

I could have worded that better. It would necessitate full-on Cowboys Zone coaching wars ;) if not a full-on search in real life. I could certainly see circumstances where we finished 3-13 and Jerry keeps JG on without the full search.

9-7 if Romo comes back, I think that would carry over to next season.(if there is one) If JK plays the rest of the season, 7-9.

9-7 would at least give me hope for next season. Plus I HATE to see my team lose.

9-7. I hope Garrett teaches these guys to hate losing and work like hell during the week to prevent it.

9-7 ? Two victories against juggernaut Philly? Really? If the boys finished the season 9-7 it would be like going on a deep playoff run. If that happened Jason would deserve the "coach of the year award". But seriously that would be a dream scenario.

I would still applaud the boys if they finished the season with a 7-9 record accounting in losses of at least one game to Vick and co. and to Manning in Indy.
I do not see 9-7 at all at this point.

I should add that I didn't mean the implications of the finish were non-negotiable. Just the records and not making the playoffs. What that would imply, necessitate, mean, etc., is entirely arguable.

This isn't a prediction. It's entirely hypothetical.

I could see 7-9 as a reasonable finishing record, and that wouldn't be that bad. I just don't want to go 4-12 like the Skins last year.

I want the 9-7 for sure. And that might (unlikely but might) get us into the playoffs. If that happened...I wouldn't need sex for a month.

We already one of the most talented team in the NFL. Now if we add a top 5 pick to the mix, with Jason Garrett as our HC, don't you think that is a better scenario?
