Seems like we have a bunch of guys that can do the same thing but we are short on lineman. I would keep Beasley, Gallop, Austin and anyone else is expendable for a good OL. I would be shocked if we didn’t make a trade considering how important the run game to this teams success.

Credible Wide Outs: Williams, Gallup, Hurns, Thompson?
Slot/Gadget: Beasley, Austin

In trade, the question is always, for what?

I'd say we have to have 3 credible wideouts. Everyone else is optional, if you get enough in return.

Beasley, Austin, and Thompson are all in their contract years, so that's more strikes against them. If we're revamping our WRs, it's always better to build that with players under contract.

Keep Williams, Gallup, and Hurns.

However, I wish they'd extend Beasley. He's coming off a down year, but I think he can do more. Buy low now.

I doubt we actually trade anyone unless we sign another. I don't see anyone trading for Thompson. He's the likely cut.

Player 1: 80 games, 230 catches, 3359 yards, 20 TDs
Player 2: 87 games, 254 catches, 2599 yards, 20 TDs

One of those guys is T Will, one of them is Beas. Beas is beloved while T Will is seen as expendable.

Which one draws double coverage?
Which one can beat single coverage, often badly?

Because you better be averaging better than 600 yards a season on the outside. Whereas that’s typical slot numbers. Put their names and salaries next to it too, and see who’s laughing.

Adios, TWill. You have inspired a generation of acrobatic bicyclists!

Keeping Rico is to prove jerry is in control.

I dont think any of them that arent locks has any trade value. They aren't distinguishable from anyone that could be picked up after cuts

At the moment I'm thinking we keep 6 WRs, put Noah Brown on IR and move Lenoir to the practice squad. The guys on the fringe have no margin for error and Sunday night for Lenoir was... you know... error.

I don't know that we need 6. Thompson seems like a luxury, while we need spots elsewhere.

Seems like it would have to be Hurns or Williams to get a quality OL. Also, would teams even take Williams and his contact? I’m looking at this strictly from a trade value standpoint to other teams.

WRs like we've got are not uncommon, decent offensive linemen are a lot harder to come by and would command more trade value.

This is my thought right now, for at least the next ten minutes or so:

3 QBs
4 RB & FB
6 WR
3 TE
9 OL
10 DL
6 LB
9 DB
3 Specialists

Williams contract is only guaranteed this year. They wouldn't be trading for him if they didn't plan on using him this season.

As for his cost, the 3.5 to 4 mil salary, next 3 years.

Would anyone think he is worth that? Maybe. They'd be getting him cheaper than we did.

I can't see us trading Hurns.

Yea that’s what I was thinking as well. It seems like if you could move Williams now is the time. Chaz has been playing horribly and keep in mind that with Fredrick out we have no backup at Center.
