It's not far-fetched in the least bit to see a udfa, 4 and 7 all starting on the OL. I'd love to see the draft status of the GB, Indy, NO and NE OL's.
I know a 3 time SB team that started 2 UDFA's on the left side.
how long ago was that 3 time SB team. There hasn't been a 3 time super bowl to do that since.
Indy OL is horrible, thats why they draft Castanzo in the 1st last year.
and then they draft Ijalana in the 2nd round.
GB had used a first round pick the last two years on the OL.
LT Clifton 2nd round pick
LG TJ Lang 4th round pick in 2009 this is his first year starting.
C Scott Wells 7th round in 2004 became the starter in 2006 but was benched in 09 then won the job back due to injury.
RG Josh Sitton 4th round in 2008
RT Brian Bulaga 1st round 2010
Derrek Sherrod 1st round 2011
New England ahs used many early picks on OL
LT Matt Light round 2 2001
LG Logan Mnakins round 1 2005
C Dan koppen round 5, on IR this year
RG picked up Brian Waters due to injury to
RT Sebastian Vollmer round 2
used a 1st round pick in 2011 on Nate Solder
New Orleans
LT Jermon Bushrod round 4
LG Carl nicks round 5
C don't have a starter really, using a backup, their starter just retired mid season.
RG Jahri Evans round 4
RT Charles Brown round 2 2010, first season starting
New Orleans has been very lucky finding two great OGs in the 4th. They need a starting C though.
NE has spent early picks on OL very often.
GB has been spending early picks the past few years. Sitton and Wells each had a few years to develop.
Out of all these teams none have a 7th and UDFA on their OL. I agree that Arkin or Nagy will be a good starter one day but I don't think either will be in just one year. Then if we keep Holland or Dockery for one more year with Koiser then we are still in trouble because I don't trust Koiser or Dockery staying healthy, or do I trust Holland actually playing good vs a team other than the Rams.
