Does anyone have experience and suggestions? My started when I was by car (I was a pedestrian).

Since my accident get shoulder an neck that give debiliting headaches.

Yesterday I throwing up every 30-45 minutes right through the night. It sucks, when they come, I can not even take aspirin...I’m basically trapped on the couch until my symptoms lessen...

I’m going to my dr this week and discuss more with him...in Canada getting a specialist doesn’t happen quickly ... and yesterday was my worst day ... felt like death was setting. Better today. But it started Saturday afternoon right through this morning.

Sounds like migraine headaches. I don't know if injuries can cause you to suddenly start getting those, or if your muscles are just so tense and knotted from the accident that it's causing the headaches.
Maybe massage or acupuncture would help, but I'm not a doctor, so ask yours.
I wish you the best of luck!

Try to get an MRI of your spine, particularly the area of your neck. I was T-boned in my car while sitting at a light and came to find out I had two herniated disks in my neck. The discomfort and lack of mobility from the accident eliminated my active lifestyle and I just grinded through day to day with little activity. Finally, after gaining 36 pounds and being miserable, physical therapy got my mobility back and eased the pain from my tightness allowing me to get back into the gym where I got back to my normal weight and strength after about a year.

I have been back to physical therapy a few times since the accident in 2003 when I feel the tightness and discomfort coming back. It has worked well for me. I also purchased My Pillow and could not believe the difference that made in my range of movement with my head and furthering my comfort level. It is worth looking into if you have neck issues. I would guess that your shoulder pain is related to a neck issue, that is what happened in my case. Having your neck at a bad angle all night exacerbates any issues you have.

Good luck.

I have arthritis in my spine, and the physical therapist got me a home traction unit. I don't have any problems with my neck anymore.

You need to get that checked out with a MRI and maybe a CT Scan. I injured mine a couple of times before they had these screens available and all they could go by was X rays, no soft tissue. I ended up with a cervical fusion about 15 years ago for C 6 and 7 herniated and nerve issues.

The fact that your throwing up is an alarm as well as that usually signifies concussion.

lukie, booby, you are having a hell of a time of it and need to get the physical part checked out pronto pronto.

Thank you for your reply...I will discuss MRI with dr., they also don’t happen quickly in Canada. My next option is physical therapy...

It sounds like you’ve been through a lot...hope you are on the right track, which seems you are.

Don’t you know the brand name of your pillow? It sounds like a good idea.

I will. My dr. thinks I was concussed after the accident...now he thinks it’s whiplash...he say whiplasy often lead to debilitating headaches. Have surgery on your spine sounds terrify. Hope it went well. How are your nerve issues. My dr is sending to an orthopedic surgeon. My knees are having issues as well...he thinks maybe nerve issues.

I had a neurosurgeon do the surgery, not an ortho guy so I felt better about it but there is some risk to it and it is not always effective but mine was up until a week ago when the nerve pain began showing up again.

I've got two back discs that have been herniated for about 13 years and that creates leg pain that prevents me from doing a lot of walking or standing but that surgery is total last resort. I've not talked to many successful patients of that and too many repeat procedures. It has hindered the twist on the trapeze but the full flip and dismount are still dead on.

Wow...if the surgery odds aren’t good, is it worth?

Nope, hell my own Internist told me he wouldn't do it. We see pro athletes with all kinds of injuries, surgeries and rehab but that lower back one is the trickiest and they have the most complete rehab available.

My problem with the back surgery is the number of people I have talked to that are actually worse after the surgery.

Agreed. That's the part that makes me think it could be migraine.
Certainly could be as I had two close friends that had them so bad it was in bed in a totally dark room for several days. One had so many of them that he had a perpetual frown as his expression.

However, they have come a long way with migraines since then. Hell, my time was the time of leeches, monkey paws and potions.
