I will say to this day we should've drafted Antonio Cromartie. Aaron glenn is on his last leg, and henry has been injured the past 2 seasons. Carpenter did come on late last year, but i feel cromartie is going to be a star in thie league at the corner position.

I agree.

He had some of the best DB metrics last year with the minutes he played(nickel Defense).

I loved him out of College, and i love him in the NFL. He is a catalyst, he makes plays.

Unlike some, I'm not ready to throw both players under the bus. I want to see what both do in Wade's scheme because those analysis I've read indicate both looking good & Wade pleased with both, particularly citing Bobby Carpenter blitzing from the ILB slot which we desperate need. Doesn't sound to me like Wade intends sit Carpenter until Ayodele or James get hurt; same goes for Burnett. It's my understanding he has a bunch of dime and nickel down situations which one or both would be involved and which he will use extensively in place of our basic defense. So wait and just sit down and have a beer and relax. Who knows you might both find yourself cheering (even if begrudingly cause you'd rather have other players) for them if they help the Cowboys win.

Also think this article was written before he has any understanding of how Wade intends to use both Burnett & Carpenter. From what I've been reading, Carpenter has really shown a lot of skill blitzing the QB from the ILB slot which is where we desperately need QB pressure. Yet the writer seems to think Wade's going to waste that needly discovered talent by only putting Carpenter in if James or Ayodele goes down; same goes for Burnett.

Why don't you wait to see how both players do in Wade's system? Afraid to

Bradie 'I don't eat Twinkies anymore' James has also shown that same promise as a blitzing MLB so far in camp. Carp is going to be a vital piece of the defense as a Nickel defender, but you can't say that this is where you want your 18th overall pick to be thriving in his second season. If anything you want him being such a good LB that he never has to come off the field. Burnett is in that same deal. He may be the other nickel LB in some sets, but Ayodele will be on the field for first and second down.

Does any of this even matter anymore? Seems to me they all are gonna be everywhere doing everything at some point, in some defensive scheme/package.

I think Carp will force his way into the lineup at the expense of James.

Other than his measurables, why?

He started like 1 college game.

That would have been a "Jerry" reach pick if I ever saw one.
