Who and what will you be paying attention to most during TC reports??

And who are the top 3 Players you are looking forward o hearing about most?

For me.....

*Matt Johnson

*Claiborne

*Andre Holmes

I'll be looking for Bruce Carter as well, but i feel he will do well.

Also ill be looking to hear that our D looks stingy(Even though Defense is usually ahead of the Offense, we have New players) and that Receivers are barely getting separation from from our Corners

other than secondary.....ill be looking to hear that our O-line is looking pretty good

Bruce Carter. if he is what some early report suggest our MLB duo could be 2nd only to SF by the end of the year. Good LB play at both inside position could have just as big of an effect on this defense as better secondary play.
Teams where singling out Brooking/James just as much as they where picking on our secondary the last few years, if Carter is a player those days are over

Good answer.

Bruce is the single most important key to the defense making significant improvements. I'm also anxious to see how the interior OL shakes out. I still see kolwoski winning the center job.

im going to be on the look out for livings, carr, and pool. i remember pool when he was at OU and i feel like he shouldn't be labeled as "elam 2.0." I am seriously rooting for the guy

I think Carter is a very important piece for the D but the DBs and the pass rush is as or more important IMO. Carter should improve the pass coverage and coverage of the flats so he's part of the pass D equation. I think Lee and Carter will be the Dynamic Duo.

I have more than 3 that really interest me.
My 4 rookies will be Claiborne, Johnson, Hamilton and Leary.
My 4 vets will be Carter, Livings, Kowalski and Church.
Will also be keeping an eye on that 3rd wr spot to see who, if any, will step up.
Gonna be a fun training camp!

1. Everybody on the offensive line--we switched the tackles, had poor play on the interior line last year, and signed a couple of free agents I have doubts about. I'm really hoping for good news there.

2. Anything to do with the defensive backfield--especially Carr, Claiborne and Matt Johnson. I can't tell you how much I'm rooting for each of these guy to be a hit.

3. Carter and Conner at linebacker--I'm hoping for big things here too. If the new backfield guys come through along with these linebackers, our defense goes from dreadful last year to absolutely gnarly this year.

4. John Phillips--I liked what he showed two years ago. I really am rooting for him to develop into a good second TE for us.

5. Punter--we've been spoiled a long time because McBriar has been so good. While we tend to overlook this position, it's crucial to having a successful season.

6. The coaching staff--I want to hear about what a great football teacher Garret is and how he is setting high expectations all around, I want to hear that Bill Callahan is one mean ******* who's constantly on the butts of the offensive linemen and how Jerome Henderson is washing the stench of Dave Campo off of the defensive backs. I want to hear the players singing the praises of Mike Woicik and how they all feel like Superman under his weight program.

7. I want to hear how someone has duct-taped Rowdy to the bleachers so he can't go around bothering people.

Pretty much everybody. I'll probably be on CZ all day during t.c.:

I'll be looking for upgrades at Tight End:

Specifically, I'll be looking for John Phillips to work back to the form he was playing at before his injury 2 preseasons ago, just before he all but wrapped up taking the #2 TE job from Bennett.

To all those who are worried about who the team's 3rd/4th WR will be, just remembmer that we have 3 top receivers already - between Austin, Bennett and Witten - and if Phillips returns to his pre-injury form we'll solidly have 4.

And if that happens, we'll be finally able to run the 2-TE set in Dallas the way it was always intended to be run, with both TEs being receiving threts, thus forcing defenses to have to finally guess who to cover.

I'll just piggy-back this...

I'll be looking for all the chicken Littles on this board the hem and haw every time Romo makes a minor mistak, Garrett makes a wrong call, a receiver dros a ball, a blocker or tackler misses an asignemnt, have I missed anything?

Nope, you pretty much nailed it!

I am going to pay attention to the W/L record in preseason, to determine whether Jason Garrett should be fired or not. Because, after all, he should be judged on his record in pre-season games........

:bang2:

The preseason games are all that really matters. Practice, while it means a lot for the players to get ready is not a good bearing on how individuals will perform throughout the season because everyone knows each other so well. I always hear every year about so and so doing well in TC and it never shows on the field for the most part. That counter on the top of the forum on days til the season starts is what I will be paying attention to the most.

I agree, im excited FINALLY about our LB's again.. However Im concerned about our pass rush.. This is now a passing league and without a pass rush your doomed...
