Who are the Cowboys Interested in Drafting?

Some of this think we know the answer, but none of us know for sure. We think since greatest depth is DB & WRs, both of which are big needs, that is probably the way we will go. But while listening to Spagnola on one of his Cowboy reports several days ago, he said the Cowboys were holding a meeting (PC?) on Monday to discuss their draft board and that he and other media types would attend. Spag went on to say the meeting would be broadcast live on DC.com at 12:30(?). Does anyone have additional info?

While I doubt Cowboys would get specific on who they will take, maybe we will find out whether their first round choices focus mainly on CB or WR or if a DE falls to us we'll grab him.

I think I remember two years ago when they did something similar to this and talked about how they though Merriman was good, but were much higher on Ware, who at that point (if I am remembering correctly) wasn't projected to be in the top 20 picks at all.

They could get specific... I'm hoping so.

I'm not sure, but I'm quite interested in seeing a draft without BP. I'm not saying he wasn't good, but I've heard a few times that he was overruled for wanting a different player (Merriman over Ware), and he had his way for some that other members of the scouting team didn't want that turned out to be busts (Rogers and Petermen). I want to see how much influence JJ has (hopefully he's learned his lesson), and how good Jeff Ireland and the rest of the scouting team is. Of course, it's possible we may not know the results this year because sometimes it takes a few years to develop players, but it will be interesting to see how the draft pundits respond, the fans, and the members of this board in particular.

That tells me that these were group decisions - Jerry, Bill, and Ireland had a say - anyone we took likely was either someone that two or more guys wanted or a guy who Jerry specifically wanted. That's why I'll never buy the blame Bill gets on Rogers.

isnt it always more popular to blame the last guy? the guy that's not around anymore.. im not saying its unfair it just happens in every organization.. im sure when the coach of the texans gets fired he'll get blamed for not taking vince young or reggie bush

I thought Charlie Casserly already caught the blame for that. He was fired/ resigned after the draft last year:laugh1:
